Cardiff Airport Guide (CWL)
Cardiff Airport is situated in Rhoose, 20km (12 miles) west of Cardiff city centre and 16km (10 miles) from Junction 33 on the M4.

Improvements to the pick-up and drop-off areas were completed in July 2010.
The information desk is located on the first floor of the terminal building. In addition to offering information relating to travel or the airport's facilities, it also has fax and photocopying equipment for use by travellers. There is also a tourist information office in the arrivals hall.
From the M4, exit at Junction 33 and follow the A4232. Take the first exit off the A4232 at Culverhouse Cross and follow signs to Cardiff Airport along the A4050 and A4226.
Public Transport
Train: Trains (tel: 0845 748 4950; www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk) run in each direction every hour from Monday to Saturday, and every two hours on a Sunday between Cardiff Central Station and Rhoose Cardiff International Station. A free shuttle bus connects the station in Rhoose and Cardiff Airport for train ticket holders.
Bus: Cardiff Bus X91 (tel: (029) 2066 6444; www.cardiffbus.com) runs between Cardiff Central Station and the airport every two hours. EST Transport (tel: (01446) 773 333; www.estcoachbus.com) operates bus 95 between Cardiff Central Station and Cardiff Airport via Barry and Dinas Powys. This is an evening-only service from Monday to Saturday. The journey time is around 30 minutes.
Taxi: Checker Cars (tel: (01446) 711 747) is the official taxi operator for the airport. Taxis are located outside the arrivals hall to the right and are available upon arrival or can be booked in advance.
Terminal facilities
There are ATMs on the first floor of the terminal building. Bureaux de change are situated on the first floor of the terminal and in the baggage reclaim hall.
A pay-as-you-go Wi-Fi internet service is available throughout the terminal building and internet kiosks are also present. There is a post box outisde the building.
Several catering options are available. The Food Village, which is located in the food court in the departures area on the first floor, sells sandwiches, snacks, hot food and beverages. Burger King is located adjacent to the Food Village, while there is also a café and two bars in the departure area.
There is a newsagent selling a full range of newspapers, books, snacks, gifts and tobacco in the terminal building. The Nuance Tax and Duty Free shop in the departures lounge, offers a wide range of perfume, cosmetics, confectionery, clothing and electronic equipment. It also has duty-free liquor and tobacco for travellers outside the EU.
Items found should be handed to a member of security or to the information desk. Enquiries about lost property should be made to the information desk or by calling the airport information line (tel: (01446) 711 111).
Baby care rooms are available on the first floor of the departure lounge and in the arrivals hall, and a childrens' play area is available in the airside departure lounge. A chaplaincy (tel: 07824 878261) is located on the first floor of the departures lounge. There are two game zones with the latest video arcade machines at the airport, one on the first floor of the terminal building and the other within the departure lounge.
Airport facilities
The Executive Lounge is located in the international departure area and offers refreshments as well as facilities such as fax, photocopier, telephone and Wi-Fi access. Fax and photocopying facilities are also available at the information desk on the first floor of the terminal. Additionally, two meeting rooms with capacity for up to 30 delegates are available for hire (tel: (01446) 711 111).
The airport has a range of services for the disabled. These include designated car parking spaces, low level kerbs, lifts between all floors, specially designed toilets, a minicom facility for the deaf or hard of hearing (available at the information desk), an ambulift for aircraft boarding, induction loops and reduced-height telephones. Wheelchairs are available for use throughout the terminal building. Passengers requiring assistance should contact the airport PRM helpline (tel: 01446 729329).
Cardiff Airport has short- and long-term car parks as well as an area for business parking. There are also parking spaces designated for disabled people in both the short-term and the long-term car parks. Car parking can be booked through the airport's website in advance.
Car hire companies located at Cardiff Airport include Avis, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz and National Alamo.
Airport hotels
Holiday Inn Express Cardiff Airport is located next to Cardiff Airport and is connected via a complimentary two-minute shuttle bus ride. Facilities at the hotel include an on-site restaurant, business centre and high-speed internet access.
Vale Resort is located 20 minutes' drive from Cardiff Airport. Hotel amenities include a spa, on-site dining and numerous leisure facilities such as squash and tennis courts.
