Tucson International Airport Guide (TUS)
Here you'll find essential information on Tucson International Airport, including contact details, airport transfer facts, details of airport facilities, and how to get there.
Volunteer customer service representatives are present throughout Tucson International Airport to provide assistance for travellers.
From the city centre and University of Arizona, take Campbell Avenue, which turns into Kino Parkway south of Broadway. Follow signs to Tucson Boulevard and the airport entrance.
From East Side, take Kolb Road south to Valencia Road or from Midtown take Alvernon Way (which merges into Palo Verde) south to Valencia Road, then travel west to Tucson Boulevard, and turn south towards the airport.
From the south, take the I-19 north to Valencia, then turn eastbound onto Valencia Road and continue to Tucson Boulevard
From the northwest, take I-10 west to South Kino Parkway exit and follow signs to Tucson Boulevard and the airport entrance.
Public Transport
Bus: Suntran (tel: 520) 623 4301; www.suntran.com) operates public buses from the airport to downtown Tucson. The journey time is around 25 minutes, and buses depart from outside the terminal. Arizona Stagecoach (tel: (520) 889 1000; www.azstagecoach.com) offers shared ride minibuses to many destinations in the area, and has a desk within the terminal at baggage claim.
Taxi: Taxis are readily available on the lower level outside the terminal.
Terminal facilities
ATMs are located on the ticketing level of the terminal.
Free Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout the airport, and data ports are available at all public telephones.
There is a food court with a choice of snack bars, restaurants and fast food outlets, including a sports bar and grill.
There are news and gift shops in the terminal. There is presently no duty-free shopping, as the airport does not currently operate international flights.
There is a lost and found service for items left in the terminal or car parks (tel: (520) 573 8156).
The terminal houses massage chairs, shoe shine, pet relief areas and a special lounge for military personnel. An art gallery, including temporary exhibits, is also open to travellers.
Airport facilities
There are no dedicated business facilities at the airport, but a business centre and meeting rooms are available at many of the local hotels, the nearest being the Holiday Inn Express (tel: (520) 889 6600; www.hiexpress.com), which has one small meeting room, and the La Quinta (tel: (520) 573 3333; www.lq.com), which offers two larger rooms.
Tucson International Airport is fully accessible, and is equipped with TDD phones, lifts, Braille signage and disabled parking spaces.
There are long-term and short-term car parks in front of the main terminal building (tel: (520) 573 8400). An additional secure economy car park (tel: (520) 573 8400) is located on Corona Drive between South Tucson Boulevard and South Country Club Road; a 24-hour shuttle bus runs between the terminal and the car park.
Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty are all represented at the airport. Rental car desks and the car hire car park are situated immediately adjacent to the main terminal building.
Airport hotels
Hilton Garden Inn is located 1.6km (1 mile) from Tucson International Airport and offers a free shuttle bus service to/from the terminal. Hotel facilities include complimentary high-speed Internet access, a fitness room, swimming pool and an on-site grill restaurant.
The Holiday Inn Express is located less than 1.6km (1 mile) from Tucson International Airport and offers a complimentary shuttle bus service from the terminal. Hotel facilities include meeting and event space, fitness equipment and a whirlpool.
La Quinta Inn and Suites Tucson Airport is located one block from Tucson International Airport and offers a free shuttle bus service and guest parking. Hotel facilities include a fitness centre, spa services and meeting space.
