Palm Springs International Airport Guide (PSP)
Palm Springs International Airport is located 3km (2 miles) east of central Palm Springs.

A new control tower, originally scheduled to come into service during 2013, and already partly built, has been subject to delay.
The Palm Springs Tourist Authority (tel: (760) 778 8418; www.visitpalmsprings.com) information desk is located inside the terminal, near the baggage claim, and provides information on subjects ranging from hotels to restaurants to special events.
From Interstate 10, exit at Gene Autry Trail (Palm Drive), turn right at Ramon Avenue and right again at Kirk Douglas Way, which leads to the airport entrance. From central Palm Springs, head eastwards along East Tahquitz Canyon Way, which leads directly to Palm Springs International Airport.
Public Transport
Rail: There is a bus link from Palm Springs International Airport to Palm Springs Amtrak station (tel: 1 800 872 7245; www.amtrakcalifornia.com), from which services operate to other destinations in California and beyond.
Bus: The Morongo Basin Transit Authority (tel: (760) 366 2395; mbtabus.com) bus 15 serves the immediate Palm Springs area and a number of destinations in the Yucca Valley, with regular scheduled services.
Shuttle: Several shuttle bus services serve Palm Springs International Airport, including Sky Cap Shuttle (tel: (760) 272 5988; www.skycapshuttle.com) and AM/PM Shuttle Service (tel: (760) 409 8826; www.ampmshuttleservice.com). All operators provide services to Palm Springs.
Taxi: Airport Taxi (tel: (760) 862 9000), American Cab (tel: (760) 322 4444) and Yellow Cab (tel: (760) 340 8294) operate from outside Arrivals.
Terminal facilities
ATMs are located in the centre of the terminal, next to the pay phones in the departure area, near gate 4.
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout all public areas of the terminal.
There are cafés, a grill restaurant, a smoothie outlet and a wine bar at Palm Springs International Airport.
There are three newsagents offering a wide selection of magazines, books, snacks, drinks and practical travel items. A gift shop is located in the Bono Concourse, near gate 5, selling a range of desert-themed goods. A retailer selling branded Palm Springs clothes and a golf shop are also on the same concourse.
For lost items, passengers should contact their airline directly.
A play structure for children is located in the grassy area between gates 1 and 2, past the security checkpoint. The terminal is designed to take advantage of the beautiful weather in the region, and there is a sizeable outdoor waiting area past the security checkpoint, just steps from the boarding gates.
Airport facilities
There are no conference or business facilities at Palm Springs International Airport. However numerous nearby hotels, and the Palm Springs Convention Centre (tel: (760) 325 6611; www.palmspringscc.com), offer meeting and event facilities of all sizes.
Wheelchairs and Skycap porters are available in the terminal for travellers requiring assistance. Arrangements can be made at the airline ticket counters for assistance at the destination airport.
There are two short-term and two long-term car parks at Palm Springs International Airport; the short-term ones are located immediately opposite the terminal and the long-term car parks are a little further away. There is also a 'cell phone' lot for drivers waiting to pick up arriving passengers. Parking information is available from ACE Parking Management (tel: (760) 327 9191).
Car hire companies represented at Palm Springs International Airport include: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Go, Hertz, National and Thrifty are the car hire companies represented at the airport. Additionally, Eaglerider offers Harley-Davidson motorcycle hire.
Airport hotels
Located in Palm Springs and offering a complimentary shuttle service to and from Palm Springs International Airport, the Hyatt Regency Suites Palm Springs has a range of leisure and business facilities. On-site dining is available in the SHARE Small Plate Bistro and there is also a bar within the hotel.
