The first two phases of the US$55 million new taxiway project have been completed, with the third phase due for competition in mid-2012 and the fourth phase expected to be finished in 2014.
Information desks are located in the arrivals area of Terminals A and B. Courtesy telephones for assistance are situated throughout the terminals.
A free shuttle bus service runs between Terminals A and B and all car parks.
From San Jose head north on CA-87/Guadalupe Parkway and turn left onto Airport Boulevard.
From San Francisco, take Interstate 80 westwards until it becomes US Route 101 South; turn right at the ‘CA-87/Guadalupe Parkway’ exit, then right again onto Airport Parkway.
From Santa Cruz, start on CA-17 North, which becomes Interstate 880 North, take the ‘US Route 101 North’ exit towards San Francisco, merge onto US Route 101 North, take the ‘Brokaw Road’ exit on the right towards First Street, and turn left onto Brokaw Road, which becomes Airport Parkway.
Public Transport
Rail: The VTA Airport Flyer shuttle bus (tel: (408) 321 2300; www.vta.org) runs a continuous loop between Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport and Santa Clara Caltrain station and the San Jose Metro/Airport LRT station. From here, there are excellent BART (tel: (510) 441 2278; www.bart.gov), Caltrain (tel: 1 800 660 4287; www.caltrain.com) and Amtrak (tel: (408) 287 7462; www.amtrak.com) light rail and metro train routes to destinations across the Bay Area.
Bus: Scheduled bus services include buses to Santa Clara County provided by Valley Transportation Authority (tel: (408) 321 2300; www.vta.org), and to Santa Cruz and Monterey.
Shuttle: Shuttles depart from the Ground Transportation Center opposite the Terminal B baggage reclaim area and the lower level of the car park at Terminal A. A number of operators offer door-to-door services. Contact details for each of these companies are available on the airport’s website.
Taxi: A number of companies offer taxis on demand. Taxis can also be pre-arranged. The airport's website has a comprehensive list of companies serving the airport. Fares to central San Jose average at US$15-18.
Terminal facilities
ATMs and bureaux de change are located in the terminals.
Postal facilities and internet stations are all available at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport. Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the terminals.
There are numerous cafés, bars, fast-food outlets, snack bars and restaurants at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport. These can be found in both terminals, including a German microbrewery/bar, a Japanese restaurant and a Mexican diner.
There are a number of shops at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport, including gift shops, newsagents and duty free.

Facilities for disabled travellers include lifts, disabled toilets and TTY telephones. Wheelchair assistance can be provided by Skycaps. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel. Disabled parking is available in Hourly Lot 2 (Terminal A) and Hourly Lot 3 (Terminal B) car parks.
Short-term parking is available directly opposite both terminals. There is one economy long-term car park near Terminal A, while two other long-term options can be found a short distance from Terminal B. Free courtesy shuttles operate a continuous loop of the two terminals to pick up passengers in various marked areas throughout the long-term car parks.
