Honolulu International Airport Guide (HNL)

A new International Arrivals Corridor opened at Honolulu International Airport in October 2010.
Information booths, open from 0430 to 2345, are located throughout Honolulu International Airport. Information is available from the State Visitor Information Program (tel: (808) 836 6413).
Free shuttle buses run between the terminals.
From Waikiki, drive to the end of the main Kalakaua Avenue and turn left just before the Honolulu Zoo onto Kapahulu Avenue. Follow Kapahulu Avenue to the end, where it merges into the H-1 freeway. Take the H-1 westbound and follow signs to Honolulu International Airport.
Public Transport
Bus: There are several city bus services serving Honolulu International Airport. The city bus system in Honolulu is called 'TheBus'. Bus 19 eastbound and bus 20 follow different routes to central Waikiki. Westbound, bus 19 goes to Hickham Air Force Base, while bus 20 goes to the Pearlridge Shopping Center, both via downtown Honolulu. One-way fares cost US$2.50.
Shuttle: The 24-hour SpeediShuttle serves hotels in Waikiki. The fare to Waikiki or Honolulu Harbour is US$14.55.
Taxi: AMPCO Express (tel: (808) 861 8294) is Honolulu International Airport's authorised service. Taxis are available in front of the baggage reclaim areas. The fare from Honolulu International Airport to Waikiki during non-rush hour periods is about US$35-40.
Terminal facilities
ATMs and bureaux de change are located throughout the terminals.
There is a post office in the main terminal building. Internet access is available throughout Honolulu International Airport.
There are plenty bars and restaurants at Honolulu International Airport, the majority of which are located in the main terminal building. There is one bar serving snacks in the Commuter Terminal and a wider selection of eateries in the Interisland Terminal.
There are numerous shops at Honolulu International Airport, including a duty-free shop in the main terminal. A newsstand is located in the Commuter Terminal and a small selection of retailers can be found in the Interisland Terminal.
All left-luggage lockers and storage facilities have been closed indefinitely. A lost property service (tel: (808) 836 6547) is located on the ground floor of the car park opposite the main terminal.
A 24-hour medical clinic (tel: (808) 836 6643) is located on the ground floor of the main terminal. Defibrillators (AEDs) are also available.
Airport facilities
The Business Center (tel: (808) 834 0058) in the main terminal provides photocopying, fax services, internet access, postal services and PC and mobile phone hire, as well as selling basic office supplies and stationery. Conference facilities are available in the Garden Conference Center (tel: (808) 836 6459), which has four conference rooms. Conference facilities are also available at the Interisland Terminal. Many airlines provide lounges for business-class passengers.
Honolulu International Airport is wheelchair accessible and provides lifts and accessible toilets. Disabled passengers should contact their airline prior to travel to secure the provision of services to meet their needs. There are parking facilities for disabled travellers in the multi-storey car park at the airport. TDD telephones are available in all terminals and there is a TTY information hotline (tel: (808) 836 6601). There is also a shuttle van service with wheelchair access.
Parking is available in the multi-storey car park, which can be accessed directly from the main terminal, and also in open car parks located near to all lobbies. The first 30 minutes of parking is free. An economy car park is located off site, with shuttles taking passengers to the terminals. Car hire companies at the Honolulu International Airport include: Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz and National. A-1 Rent a Car, Advantage, Alamo, JN Car Rentals and Thrifty are located off-site, connected to the airport by shuttle buses.
Airport hotels
Located within walking distance of Honolulu International Airport, Ohana Honolulu Airport Hotel offers a free shuttle bus service to the terminal buildings. Other facilities include Wi-Fi access and limited meeting facilities.
A five-minute ride from Honolulu International Airport by shuttle bus, the Pacific Marina Inn Airport offers complimentary parking and houses a swimming pool.
