Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport Guide (CVG)

Terminal 2 closed in mid-2012, meaning just one terminal (formerly named Terminal 3) will be in operation for flights. Terminal 1 is currently used for airport administration purposes.
There is an information desk in the centre of concourse C in the terminal. Airport Ambassadors are on hand in baggage claim area and in concourse B. Information booths are situated in concourses A and C.
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport provides a free underground tram and bus shuttle between the main terminal and the car parks.
From central Cincinnati, head south on Interstates 71 or 75, across the Ohio River. Then turn right onto exit 185 and follow Interstate 275 Circle Freeway westwards. From here, turn right at exit 4 onto SR212 and follow signs to the terminals and parking facilities.
Public Transport
Bus: TANK public bus 2X (tel: (859) 331 8265; www.tankbus.org) runs to central Cincinnati and Covington from outside the baggage reclaim area. The journey time to Cincinnati is around 30 minutes, and the fare is US$2.
Shuttle: The Airport Executive Shuttle (tel: (859) 261 8841; www.executivetransportation.org) service runs to downtown Cincinnati and the Kentucky side of the Ohio River; stops en route can be arranged on request. A request service is available for hotels and for destinations throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance at the desks in baggage reclaim, although a walk-up service is also available.
Taxi: Taxis (tel: (859) 767 3260) operate 24 hours a day at a set fee for journeys into Cincinnati. There is a taxi desk in baggage claim. Fares to Cincinnati start at $30.

Terminal facilities
There are plenty of ATMs throughout Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, as well as banks and bureau de change facilities.
Free Wi-Fi internet access is offered in the terminal.
Numerous restaurants, bars, delicatessens and other food outlets are located throughout the terminal building, with a particularly wide variety available in concourse B.
There are newsagents/gift shops, duty-free and a wide variety of other shops in the terminal, particularly in concourse B.
Trolleys are available throughout Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. A lost and found service (tel: (859) 372 9800) is available.
Emergency paramedic services are available and there is a children's play area.
Airport facilities
There are several Laptop Lane business centres providing workstations, internet access, telephones and fax machines. The on-site Doubletree Hotel (tel: (859) 371 6166; doubletree1.hilton.com) can cater for up to 600 people. It has a grand ballroom, which can be subdivided into six rooms, and nine smaller meeting/conference rooms for hire.
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is fully accessible for travellers with disabilities; facilities include text telephones and visual paging and designated parking spaces. Passengers requiring assistance should inform their airlines prior to travel.
There are three car parks at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Short-term parking is available at the AutoPort Garage, which has direct access to the terminal (the first 30 minutes are free). Long-term parking is available at a remote outdoor car park, serviced by a 24-hour free shuttle bus connecting to the terminal. There is also a short-term 'cell phone lot' for drivers collecting arriving passengers. Valet parking is available in front of the terminal building. Car hire companies at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport include: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty. Courtesy telephones are located near the exits in the baggage reclaim areas for car hire reservations. Shuttles run to the car hire company locations.
Airport hotels
Located 1.6km (1 mile) from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, the 70-room Comfort Suites offers a courtesy shuttle service to and from the terminals. Among the facilities is free Wi-Fi, complimentary hot breakfast, an exercise room, and a heated indoor pool.
The Country Inn and Suites, with its indoor pool and fitness centre, is within 1km (0.6 miles) of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, to which it is linked to via a shuttle bus service.
Immediately adjacent to the terminal complex, the Doubletree is the most convenient accommodation option for Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The hotel offers a range of room and suite types, along with accessible rooms. It also has a bar and gift shop, a bistro restaurant, and extensive meeting facilities.
