Driving directions: 

Louisville International Airport is located at the junction of Interstate 65 and Interstate 264. From the area immediately surrounding Louisville, the airport can be reached by taking Preston Highway, which leads to Phillips Lane. Continue west along Phillips Lane and then turn left onto the Freedom Way ramp, and follow signs for the airport.

From Nashville, Louisville International Airport can be reached from Interstate 65 North, leading to Interstate 264 West, exit 131.

From Lexington, Louisville International Airport can be reached from Interstate 64 West, which leads to Interstate 264 West, exit 11.

From St Louis, the airport can be accessed from Interstate 64 East to Interstate 264 East (exit 1) to exit 11.

From Cincinnati, Louisville International Airport can be reached from Interstate 71 South leading to exit 131.

There is space for 5,525 cars at Louisville International Airport in a covered and a remote car park. Garage levels 1-3 offer covered parking, while level 4 and the remote car park are uncovered. Drivers may park in any car park, but the remote car park offers the best value for long-term parking. Free shuttles run from the remote car park to the terminal building, every 10-15 minutes. Level 1 of the multi-storey car park offers short-term parking. A free short-term waiting zone is available for drivers picking up passengers at the airport. Valet parking is also available.

Car hire companies represented at Louisville International Airport include: Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty. The car hire check-in desks are located on the lower level of the terminal in Arrivals. Return areas for hire cars are located within walking distance, next to the west end of the main airport building.
