Detroit Metro Airport Guide (DTW)
Here you'll find essential information on Detroit Metro Airport, including contact details, airport transfer facts, details of airport facilities, and how to get there.
Detroit Metro Airport, despite being one of the USA's most modern airports, is planning further expansion and improvement, including addition of a fifth runway, a new rail link between the terminals, and a regional rail system linking Detroit and Ann Arbor with the airport.
Staff in green waistcoats are designated customer service agents who can provide airport, hotel, transport, shopping and local information (tel: (734) 247 7678). There are also customer service points situated throughout the terminals.
A free shuttle bus service runs between the North and McNamara Terminals. Owing to the length (1.6km/1 mile) of the McNamara Terminal, an express tram service runs from end to end.
Detroit Metro Airport can be accessed from two major interstate motorways: Interstate 94 Middlebelt/Merriman Road, exit 198, which turns into Rogell Drive, and Interstate 275 Eureka Road, exit 15 turning into Eureka Road.
Public Transport
Rail: Amtrak (tel: 1 800 872 7245; www.amtrak.com) serves Dearborn station, 19km (12 miles) away from Detroit Metro Airport.
Bus: SMART bus (tel: (866) 962 5515; www.smartbus.org) runs local services (bus 125) to central Detroit (journey time: 40-50 minutes) from outside the lower level of both terminals, near the ground transportation offices. Fares start at US$2.00 depending on the destination and service chosen.
Taxi: Taxis are available from Metro Cars (tel: 1 800 456 1701; www.metrocars.com) and Metro Cab (tel: (734) 997 6500). Fares to downtown Detroit are US$43-53.

Valet parking is available. Additional long-term outdoor parking at the Yellow and Green Lots is another option; this is also linked to both terminals by a free shuttle service.
