Detroit Metro Airport Guide (DTW)
Here you'll find essential information on Detroit Metro Airport, including contact details, airport transfer facts, details of airport facilities, and how to get there.
The airport, despite being one of the USA's most modern airports, is planning further expansion and improvement, including addition of a fifth runway, a new rail link between the terminals, and a regional rail system linking Detroit and Ann Arbor with the airport.
Staff in green waistcoats are designated customer service agents who can provide airport, hotel, transport, shopping and local information (tel: (734) 247 7678). There are also customer service points situated throughout the terminals.
A free shuttle bus service runs between the North and the McNamara terminal buildings. Owing to the length (1.6km/1 mile) of the McNamara Terminal, an express tram service runs from end to end.
The airport can be accessed from two major interstate motorways: the I-94 Middlebelt/Merriman Road, exit 198, which turns into Rogell Drive, and the I-275 Eureka Road, exit 15 turning into Eureka Road.
Public Transport
Rail: Amtrak (tel: 1 800 872 7245; www.amtrak.com) serves Dearborn station, 19km (12 miles) away from the airport.
