Minneapolis St Paul International Airport Guide (MSP)
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is located 16km (10 miles) south of Minneapolis and 19km (12 miles) south of St Paul.

Terminal 2-Humphrey is to be expanded to double its present size, and will house all non-SkyTeam alliance airlines. Once completed, SkyTeam alliance airlines, including Delta, will operate solely from Terminal 1-Lindbergh.
There are information desks in the terminals, and general airport information is also available (tel: (612) 726 5555). Volunteers provide a Travelers Assistance service (tel: (612) 726 5500).
Light rail trains link the main Terminal 1-Lindbergh building to Terminal 2-Humphrey. A free shuttle bus service operates between for terminals for those with reduced mobility.
Both terminals are bordered by Highway 62, Interstate 494, Highway 77 and Highway 5. Follow the exit signs on Interstate 494 and Highway 5 to reach the terminals.
Public Transport
Rail: A light rail service operates from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (tel: (612) 373 3333; www.metrotransit.org). Trains stop at both terminals and connect passengers to 15 other destinations, including downtown Minneapolis to the north and the Mall of America in Bloomington to the south. Trains run between the terminals every seven or eight minutes during peak hours and every 10 to 15 minutes at other times of the day. A single fare is $2.25 in peak hours and $1.75 at other times
Bus: City buses, operated by Metro Transit (tel: (612) 373 3333; www.metrotransit.org), provide transportation throughout the Minneapolis/St Paul area; they pick-up from the airport's Transit Centre on the east side of the Blue and Red car parks at Terminal 1-Lindbergh. Fares are the same as on the light rail service.
Shuttle: Shared ride shuttle services, operated by SuperShuttle (tel: (612) 827 7777; www.supershuttle.com), run to and from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Taxi: Taxis are available from the cab starter booth one level up from the Tram Level at Terminal 1-Lindbergh and from the Humphrey Ground Transportation Center at Terminal 2-Humphrey. The fare to downtown Minneapolis is around $45.
Terminal facilities
ATMs and bureaux de change are available in both terminals. A bank is located in Terminal 1-Lindebergh.
Paid-for wireless internet access is available in most public spaces in both terminal buildings. Postal services are also offered.
There is a wide range of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlours, fast-food outlets and snack bars in both terminals; although the majority are in Terminal 1-Lindebergh.
There are plenty of shopping opportunities, including duty-free outlets, throughout the airport, particularly in The Mall shopping area of Terminal 1-Lindebergh.
Storage lockers are available in secure areas of Terminal 1-Lindebergh. A luggage delivery service is available from Airport Delivery Services (tel: (612) 990 0440; ads-msp.com), while a lost and found service (tel: (612) 726 5141) is located in the mezzanine level of Terminal 1-Lindebergh.
There is a family room with baby-change facilities and play room, a nursing mothers’ room in Terminal 1-Lindebergh and children's play areas in both terminals.
Airport facilities
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport has several self-serve business centres in Terminal 1-Lindbergh, offering travellers private work stations with data ports. FedEx service, postage machines and ATMs are also available at these sites. There is also a conference centre (tel: (612) 794 4500) with facilities for up to 100 people, copying machines, fax, computers and courier services, also in Terminal 1-Lindbergh.
Facilities for the disabled include: lifts, toilets, electric carts and TDD phones. Travelers Assistance (tel: (612) 726 5500) can also provide help. Reserved parking is available. Passengers should request wheelchairs from their airline prior to travel. The airport's website has a list of transport options for disabled travellers, including service providers and contact details.
There are several car parks with direct access to the terminals, providing short-term, general, valet and discounted long-term parking facilities (tel: 1 877 359 7275). Since 1996, 6,500 parking spaces have been added at Terminal 1-Lindbergh, connected to the terminal by underground trams. There are also 4,700 car parking spaces at the Terminal 2-Humphrey.
Major car hire companies: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National, are represented at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. There are courtesy telephones and touch-screen car hire information on the baggage reclaim level. Car hire counters can be found on the lower levels of the blue and red car parks in Terminal 1-Lindebergh – in the Hub Building, which is connected to the terminals by an underground tram. At Terminal 2-Humphrey, car hire counters are located in the Ground Transport Center on the ground level of the parking ramp, directly across from the terminal building.
Airport hotels
This 200-room hotel has a health and fitness centre, indoor swimming pool and a business centre. It's very close to the Mall of America, with its visitor attractions, and a breakfast buffet is included in the room rate. A free 24-hour airport shuttle bus service is available.
Just 2km (1.3 miles) from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, the Marriott boasts large meeting and events facilities and a business centre, along with a bistro-style restaurant, bar, fitness centre and indoor pool. A shuttle bus service operates from the hotel to the airport.
Located close to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, the Ramada Mall of America has a large business centre, an extensive games room, an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre. Free shuttles operate to and from both the airport and the Mall of America shopping area.
