The airport is situated 13km (8 miles) south of downtown Rochester.

The airport has recently undergone a number of construction projects, including approach road improvements, expansion of parking facilities, and renovations to the control tower.
An information desk is located in the terminal building.
Coming from the east (Winona, LaCrosse), take I-90 to Hwy-63 (exit 209B). Head north about 5km (3 miles) to county road 16 (airport exit) and then 1.5km (1 mile) west to the airport. Coming from the west (Austin, Albert Lea), take I-90 to Hwy-63 (exit 209A). Head north to county road 16 and go west to the airport. Arriving from the south (Iowa, Preston), head north on Hwy-63 to county road 16 and take the exit to the airport. From the north (Minneapolis), head south on Hwy-52 to Hwy-63 exit. Go south about 10km (6 miles) to county road 16 (airport exit) and head west to the airport.

Terminal facilities
The Home Federal Savings Bank has an office at the airport campus. FedEx operates air cargo service from the airport.
Meals are available from airport campus restaurants located both inside and outside the terminal building.
A shop sells gift items, newspapers, magazines and snacks.
A Mayo Clinic representative is available for medical and health assistance for passengers. Skycaps are also available to meet every flight and provide wheelchair and baggage assistance.
Airport facilities
The airport has no business or conference facilities. The nearby Rochester International Event Center (tel: (507) 529 0033; www.rochestereventcenter.com) can accommodate meetings and conferences.
The airport is fully accessible for disabled travellers. Passengers are advised to inform their airline of any special needs in advance of travel.
The short-term parking area is located immediately in front of the terminal building. There is no limit as to the length of time a vehicle can be parked in this area, but parking is less expensive in the long-term economy parking area, which is located nearby, within easy walking distance from the terminal building. The car hire agencies represented at the airport are Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and Thrifty. They have counters in the terminal building.
