The airport is located 3km (2 miles) south of Newark and 26km (16 miles) southwest of New York City.

Terminal B is currently undergoing a modernisation programme, incorporating new ticket counters, domestic baggage claim area, updated baggage and passenger screening technology. More shopping/dining options will also be introduced.

Multi-lingual customer service representatives wear red jackets and are available throughout the terminals to provide information and assistance.
The AirTrain Newark runs between the terminals and car parks.
The airport is located off Highway-78 (from Manhattan via Holland Tunnel) and Highway-95 in New Jersey.
Public Transport
Rail: Newark Liberty International Airport station is connected to the terminals via the free AirTrain Newark service. From here, Amtrak (tel: 1 800 872 7245; www.amtrak.com) and New Jersey Transit (tel: (973) 275 5555; www.njtransit.com) trains run to Penn Station for connections to PATH subway trains, which serve downtown Manhattan and 33rd Street with other stops on the way.
Bus: Coach USA (tel: (877) 863 9275; www.coachusa.com) operates the 24-hour Newark Airport Express coach to New York City, calling at Grand Central Station, Bryant Park and the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Fares are $15 one way, $25 return, and journey time is between 90-120 minutes. Other services run to destinations in Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island and the suburbs. A number of companies also offer shuttle services to the city, and the other NYC airports. Ground transportation information is available in Arrivals areas of all terminals.
Taxi: Taxis are readily available; passengers should use authorised taxis only and establish a fare before departure. Average fares to New York City range from $55-$90, depending on the area required.
Terminal facilities
ATMs and bureaux de change are located in all terminals. A bank is situated in Terminal C. Paid-for Wi-Fi Internet access is available in most public areas in the airport. There are fixed Internet connections at various locations, telephones.
A wide choice of cafés, bars and restaurants is available in all terminals.
Numerous newsagents and gift shops are available in all terminals. Duty-free is available in terminals B and C.
Trolleys are available in the baggage reclaim areas of all terminals. A lost property service is available (tel: (973) 961 6230).
There is a medical centre, baby-change facilities and a chapel.
Airport facilities
A comprehensive range of business services, including fax, computer, photocopying and courier facilities as well as Wireless Internet access, are available at all terminals. Conference facilities are only offered via airline and club lounges, although the on-site Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott (tel: (973) 623 0006; www.marriott.com) offers business facilities, including a fully equipped business centre, PCs and printers, secretarial services and 19 meeting rooms.
There are TDD telephones, ramps, lifts and adapted toilets throughout the terminals. Electric carts are available on request from the airlines. Specially equipped cars can be hired from Avis and Hertz. There are also reserved car parking spaces; contact the car parks operator (tel: (973) 961 6421) for more details.
There are more than 17,000 public parking spaces at the airport. Three short-term car parks (Lots A, B and C) are situated in front of each terminal. Daily parking is available in car parks P1, P3 and the multi-storey P4 (P2 and part of P3 are reserved for hire cars), which are connected to the terminals by AirTrain Newark. Free shuttle buses transport passengers to/from the economy parking lot, P6. General parking information is available by telephone (tel: (973) 961 6421). Take the free AirTrain Newark to car park P3 station for Avis, Hertz and National; alight at station P2 for Budget and Dollar and to meet courtesy vehicles for the off-site company Enterprise. Courtesy telephones for car hire reservations are situated in the baggage reclaim areas of all terminals.
Airport hotels
Courtyard Newark Liberty International Airport is less than 1.6km (1 mile) from the airport and is linked via a shuttle bus service. The hotel has an on-site restaurant, fitness centre and provides business services, high-speed Internet and meeting/event space.
