From the west, on the Long Island Expressway 495, take exit 57 southwards. Turn right at the second set of traffic lights (Veterans Memorial/454) and travel 8km (5 miles) to Johnson Avenue, the turn-off for the airport.
From the east, on Sunrise Highway, take exit 50A northwards onto Johnson Avenue and follow this to Long Island MacArthur Airport.

Public transport rail:
Rail: The Long Island Railroad (tel: (631) 231 5477; www.mta.info/lirr) station in Ronkonkoma offers connections to/from various destinations in the area, including Manhattan. The station is linked to Long Island MacArthur Airport by a shuttle service (journey time from the airport to the station: 10 minutes). The journey time from the station to Penn Station in New York City is 80 minutes and the fare is US$18.
Public transport road:
Bus: Suffolk County Bus Transit (tel: (631) 853 5200; sct-bus.org) bus s57 provides hourly local bus services, and connections into New York. Fare US$1.50.
Coach: Hampton Jitney (tel: (631) 283 4600; www.hamptonjitney.com) offers coach transport direct to Eastern Long Island or Manhattan. A short taxi ride is required between the Hampton Jitney stop and the airport terminal. Reservations are required, and the single fare to Manhattan is US$25.
