If the colder months already have you longing for the heat, check out these three destinations for your November getaway

November is a great time to travel – you beat the Christmas crowds and dodge high prices. Whether you’re bringing the little ones or looking for a thrill, we know the best places to visit this November.

Best for families: Marrakech, Morocco

Marrakech is a gorgeous modern city that still teems with history. There are plenty of trendy art galleries and bars to entertain the adults, while the kids will love watching the snake charmers in Jemaa el-Fna (the city’s main square) and wandering through the colourful stalls in one of Marrakech’s many souks (markets).

For outdoorsy families, Marrakech is also tantalisingly close to the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. A hike filled with jaw-dropping panoramas or a camel ride under the desert stars are absolute must-sees.

Shopping is an absolute delight in Marrakech. From the northern edge of Jemaa el-Fna are winding alleyways of the souks, the crowded central market of Marrakech. You can buy anything from carpets to herbs to jewellery. Bargaining is essential though.

Best for a beach break: Miami, USA

Americans flock to Florida every year for their beautiful beaches and turquoise waters, but Miami offers something more than the typical beach trip. This city has a booming nightlife scene and a vibrant blend of Hispanic culture.

Do some shopping in Coconut Grove, one of Miami’s oldest neighbourhoods, or get drinks and Cuban sandwiches in Little Cuba. Of course, when you want to soak up the sun or try your hand at some water sports, Miami Beach is always close by.

One popular excursion from Miami is to Everglades National Park which is about 40 minutes away by car which gives you plenty of opportunities to watch alligators, hike, spot rare plants, birds and animals, among others.
