Grand Hyatt Muscat

The Chedi Muscat

The Chedi is the original luxury hotel in Muscat, and arguably still the best. Marina Hotel

For this price don't expect the Ritz. Overlooking Mutrah fish market this is a simple harbourside hotel offering great views of Muscat's famous corniche. It's basic and its basement bar can be a little noisy but its location is within walking distance of Mutrah Souk making it convenient for sightseeing.

Naseem Hotel

This firm favourite may have seen better days, but with Mutrah Souk on the doorstep and a rather cheerful atmosphere, budget travellers will be hard pushed to find better value this close to the heart of Muscat. All rooms have air-conditioning, although the best are found up on the fourth floor.

Beach Hotel

For a taste of local hospitality, this small Arab-style hotel (no alcohol served) with its blue tiles and friendly service is only a few minutes' walk from the beach and the Shati Al Qurum shopping complex. Though the furniture can look a little dated, all rooms are air-conditioned and a decent size. Wi-Fi available.
