Driving directions:

Blue Grass Airport is easily accessible from Highway 60 (Versailles Road) and is in close proximity to Blue Grass Parkway and Interstates 75 and 64.
From Lexington, take Highway 60 (Versailles Road) to the west and take the south exit for Man O War Boulevard. From here, take the first right onto Terminal Drive and follow the signs to the airport. The total drive time from central Lexington is approximately 20 minutes.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus: The Transit Authority of Lexington (tel: +1 859 253 4636;www.lextran.com) runs bus 21 from Blue Grass Airport to the Transit Centre on Vine Street in Lexington. The service is operational from Monday to Friday (daytimes only – the last departure from the airport is at 1833). The journey time is approximately 40 minutes and the fare is US$1.
Shuttle: Many local hotels provide shuttle services to and from Blue Grass Airport. Direct line courtesy telephones for reservations are located next to baggage claim.
Taxi: Taxis can be hailed from the taxi rank outside the terminal, near the baggage claim exit. Meters commonly begin at $2.50 and fares run at $2.50 per mile.

Terminal facilities

Money:

There are two ATMs in the airport. One is by the main entrance on the ground floor of the terminal and the second is in concourse B on the second floor.

Food:

A café, coffee shop, taproom, and grill restaurant are located within the terminal building. Most dining options are available post-security.

Shopping:

Outlets offering a wide variety of magazines, newspapers, books, clothing, toiletries, snacks and souvenirs are situated on both levels of the terminal building. There is also a shop selling paintings and various artworks. Duty-free is not available, as Blue Grass Airport currently only serves domestic routes.

Luggage:

Left-luggage facilities are not available at the airport. Lost property queries, regarding items misplaced within the terminal, are handled by airport staff (tel: +1 859 425 3100).

Other:

There is an officer from the Department of Public Safety on hand to provide first aid services 24 hours a day.. There are children's play areas in the lobby on the ground floor.

There is an executive lounge, The Club at Blue Grass (tel: +1 859 425 3100), in concourse B on the third floor of the airport. It provides complimentary snacks and beverages, workstations and photocopying and fax services. A variety of meeting rooms (tel: +1 859 425 3100) are also available to book at the airport.
Further meeting and conference facilities are also available from some major hotels in central Lexington – the nearest of these is the Hampton Inn Lexington South (tel: +1 859 223 0088; hamptoninn3.hilton.com).

 

Communication Facilities:

Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout Blue Grass Airport’s terminal. Postage stamps can be purchased at the information centre on the ground floor, while a FedEx drop box and USPS mailbox are situated at the entrance to the terminal building.

Disabled facilities:

Blue Grass Airport is fully accessible to passengers with disabilities. Lifts are located on each side of the airport terminal, next to the security checkpoint and baggage claim. Designated parking spaces are reserved in all parking areas for those with disabilities. Skycaps can provide wheelchairs and additional assistance to and from the gates. Any passengers who may require further assistance are advised to contact their airline before travelling.

Car parking:

Short- and long-term parking can be found immediately opposite the terminal building in a car park. The first 30 minutes of parking in these areas is free of charge. Car rental:

International car hire companies: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National are represented at Blue Grass Airport. Counters for these operators are located in the baggage claim area on the ground floor. The pick-up and drop-off area for hire cars is located next to the terminal building.
