Weather in Chicago

The best time to visit Chicago is during the spring and autumn, although both seasons run the risk of rain or thunderstorms. Summertime in the city spells warm, sunny days, with temperatures generally between 26°C (78°F) and 33°C (92°F). But temperatures can soar easily to 38°C (92°F), often combined with heavy humidity, which can make things very sticky and uncomfortable. Winters are brutally cold, when snowfall and cold air from Canada drive temperatures way down. There's also the chill factor, thanks to gusty winds from Lake Michigan. Temperatures can fall below freezing for several consecutive days and snowfall is common.
