Local time Perth

Restaurants in Perth

Despite its isolation from the impressive dining options of Australia’s eastern states, Perth has established itself as a competitive epicurean destination with a healthy supply of quality restaurants for all budgets.

Focusing on fresh, local produce, the city’s modern Australian cuisine is popular, as is food from the country’s nearby Asian neighbours. Perth’s proximity to leading Australian wine producing region, Margaret River, means that no matter what dining option you choose, there’ll be a local wine to match it.

The Perth restaurants below have been hand-picked by our guide author and are grouped in the following three price categories:
Expensive (over A$90)
Moderate (A$60 to A$90)
Cheap (under A$60)
The prices quoted above are for an average three-course meal and half a bottle of house wine or cheapest equivalent per person. Tipping isn’t customary unless service has been exceptional.

In Kings Park, and offering city views and the Swan River, the elegant Fraser's is one of Perth's best restaurants - that kind of special occasion venue used for marriage proposals and anniversaries. Superb cuisine is focused on fresh local produce with an emphasis on excellent seafood, and there's an impressive Australian-driven wine list too. In summer book a table on the terrace.

Located on the water at Fremantle, dine alfresco or among the cosy, industrial décor whilst watching the beer artisans at work. The wood-fired pizza tastes as good as it smells and the brewery is a good spot for a weekend brunch. Whatever you're eating, don't forget to try a local Little Creatures ale.
