Brussels Airport Guide (BRU)

Construction of a new terminal facility for low-cost airlines has been put on indefinite hold.
An airport information desk is available in the Departures area. There is also an Information Call Center (tel: 02 753 7753 or 09 007 0000).
Brussels Airport is easily accessible from both the Brussels inner and outer ring road (follow signs for the Airport or Zaventem).
Public Transport
Rail: Airport City Express trains to the city go to Brussels' three main stations (Gare Centrale, Gare du Nord and Gare du Midi: journey time 20-25 minutes). Direct trains are also available to Ghent, De Panne, Leuven, Landen and Quiévrain/Quévy. Further information is available from Belgian Railways (tel: 02 528 2828; www.b-rail.be).
Bus: De Lijn (tel: 07 022 0200; www.delijn.be) buses serve Brussels North station and routes throughout Flanders. MIVB/STIB buses (tel: 07 023 2000; www.stib.be) link Brussels Airport to NATO, the European Commission area and the city centre.
Coach: Scheduled coaches run to Antwerp (journey time: 45 minutes) and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in association with Sri Lankan Airlines. (tel: 05 233 4000; www.airportexpress.be).
Taxi: Metered taxis are available outside the Arrivals hall. TaxiHendriks (tel: 02 752 9800) has taxis for wheelchair users.
Terminal facilities
Facilities include a bank and post office, bureaux de change and ATMs. Mobile telephones can be hired from Locaphone in the Arrivals hall. Internet, data ports for laptops and Wireless Internet connection are available at the Communications Center in the Arrivals hall.
There are several bars, cafés, restaurants and vending machines available.
There is a wide variety of shops, including duty-free.
There are left-luggage lockers on Level 0, plus some smaller ones in the shopping area of Pier A. Passengers should contact the airport authority (tel: 02 753 6820) for lost property. There is a baggage wrapping service available on Level 3.
Baby-changing facilities are situated throughout the terminal building. There is a pharmacy open seven days a week, a travel agency, and multi-denominational places of worship.
Airport facilities
The Regus Skyport Meeting Centre (tel: 02 714 0200; www.regus.be) offers 10 meeting rooms, secretarial services and Internet connection. Three additional rooms are available at the Brucargo complex. The Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel (tel: 02 710 8000; www.starwoodhotels.com), adjacent to the terminal, has a conference centre, business centre and banqueting rooms.
Disabled toilets, lifts and ramps are available. Assistance between transportation and check-in is offered by Airport Caddy (tel: 02 753 2212; www.airportcaddy.be), and should be ordered at least 36 hours in advance. Passengers requiring special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel and arrive at Brussels Airport at least two hours in advance. There is a designated pick-up and drop-off zone for disabled passengers. Front Park 1 and 2 both provide disabled parking spaces.
There are 12,500 parking spaces available within walking distance of the terminal. Both short- and long-term parking is available 24 hours a day. NV Interparking SA (tel: 02 715 2110; www.interparking.com) offers three car parks with direct access to the terminal, the new P3 car park being allocated for long-term stays. The Lock Park (tel: 02 715 2128) has security long-term parking facilities and is located next to the terminal, while Q-Park Car Hotel (tel: 02 753 0110; www.carhotel.be) provides a shuttle service to/from the terminal, as well as a valet service. Spaces in the Car Hotel should be reserved 48 hours in advance. VIP parking is also available in the terminal building (tel: 02 715 2123).
Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt are represented at Brussels Airport, with desks located in the Arrivals hall.
Airport hotels
Holiday Inn Express Brussels Airport is a 10-minute drive from the airport and the hotel provides a free shuttle bus service to/from the terminals. Other facilities include a business centre and a health and fitness club.
Hotel Formule 1 Brussels Airport is located near the airport and has parking and Wi-Fi Internet facilities available (at an additional cost).
The 113-room Mercure Brussels Airport provides on-site dining options, a fitness centre, self-serve business facilities and the hotel also runs a free shuttle bus service.
Located seconds from Brussels Airport, the Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel provides accommodation, dining facilities and extensive conference facilities within easy reach of the terminals.
The 5-star Sofitel Brussels hotel is a short drive from Brussels Airport and has a restaurant, bar and extensive meeting/conference facilities.
