Construction of a new terminal facility for low-cost airlines has been put on indefinite hold.

Driving directions: 

Brussels Airport is easily accessible from both the Brussels inner and outer ring road (follow signs for the Airport or Zaventem).

Public Transport

Public transport rail: 

Rail: Airport City Express trains to the city go to Brussels' three main stations (Brussels Central, Brussels North and Brussels Midi (journey time 16-25 minutes, fare €5.40). Direct trains are also available to Ghent, De Panne, Leuven, Landen and Quiévrain/Quévy. Further information is available from Belgian Railways (tel: 02 528 2828; www.b-rail.be).

Public transport road: 

Bus: De Lijn (tel: 07 022 0200; www.delijn.be) buses serve Brussels North station (bus 471) and routes throughout Flanders. The MIVB/STIB (tel: 07 023 2000; www.stib.be) Airport Line service links Brussels Airport to NATO, the European Commission area and the city centre (journey time: 30 minutes; fare: €3.50).

Coach: Scheduled Airport Express (tel: 05 233 4000; www.airportexpress.be) coaches run to Antwerp (journey time: 45 minutes; fare: €10).

Taxi: Metered taxis are available outside the arrivals hall. Taxi Hendriks (tel: 02 752 9800) has taxis for wheelchair users. The fare to the city centre is around €40-50, and the journey time is 20-30 minutes.

Terminal facilities

Money: 

Banking, currency change and ATM facilities are available at various points within the terminal building.

Communication: 

Mobile telephones can be hired from Locaphone in the Arrivals hall. Internet, data ports for laptops, and paid-for Wi-Fi internet connections are available at the Communications Centre in the Arrivals hall. There is a post office in Arrivals.

Food: 

There are several bars, cafés, restaurants and vending machines available in both piers and in the main departure area. These outlets serve everything from Belgian beer to fast food and seafood. There is also a café, snack bar and pub in Arrivals.

Shopping: 

There is a wide variety of shops at Brussels Airport, from sweet shops to fashion outlets. Duty-free is available for passengers leaving the EU.

Luggage: 

There are left-luggage lockers on the ground floor of the terminal, plus some smaller ones in the shopping area within Pier A. There is a baggage wrapping service available on level 3. A porter service (tel: 02 753 2211) is available for a small fee and should be requested at least 48 hours in advance. Passengers should contact the airport information desk for lost property or fill in the form on the airport website.

Other: 

Baby-changing facilities are situated throughout the terminal building. There is a pharmacy open seven days a week, a travel agency, a hairdresser, and multi-denominational places of worship.

Airport facilities

Conference and business: 

The Regus Skyport Meeting Centre (tel: 02 714 0200; www.regus.be) offers 10 meeting rooms, secretarial services, catering and internet connection. Three additional rooms are available at the Brucargo complex. The Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel (tel: 02 710 8000; www.starwoodhotels.com), adjacent to the terminal, has a conference centre, business centre and banqueting rooms.

Disabled facilities: 

Adapted toilets, lifts and ramps are available. Assistance between transportation and check-in is offered by Axxicom Airport Caddy (tel: 02 753 2212; www.facilicom.com/be), and should be ordered at least 48 hours in advance. Passengers requiring special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel and arrive at Brussels Airport at least two hours in advance. There is a designated pick-up and drop-off zone for disabled passengers. Designated disabled parking is available in the short-stay car park in front of the terminal building.

Car parking: 

There are 12,500 parking spaces available within walking distance of the terminal. Both short- and long-term parking is available 24 hours a day. NV Interparking SA (tel: 02 715 2110; www.interparking.com) offers three car parks with direct access to the terminal, the P1 car park for short-stay parking, P2 for economy parking, and P3 for long-term parking. The Lock Park (tel: 02 715 2128) offers secure long-term parking facilities and is located next to the terminal, while the long-term Q-Park Car Hotel (tel: 02 753 0110; www.carhotel.be) provides a shuttle service to/from the terminal, as well as a valet service. Spaces in the Car Hotel should be reserved 48 hours in advance. VIP parking is also available in the terminal building (tel: 02 715 2123).

Car rental: 

Car hire operators at Brussels Airport include: Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. Desks for these operators are located in the arrivals hall.

Airport hotels

There is one on-site hotel at Brussels Airport, the Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel, and numerous other accommodation options nearby. Hotel reservations can be made in the arrivals hall.

Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport

Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport is located 5 minutes from the airport by shuttle bus. The hotel has an on-site business centre, conference facilities, a health and fitness club and a restaurant.
