Airport news: 

The Vitrolles Aéroport railway station is now in operation, offering regular services to a number of destinations in the region.

Information: 

Two information desks (tel: 04 4214 1414/2114) are located on the arrivals level of the domestic and international terminals. Reception staff can advise on airport facilities, the times of flight arrivals and departures and connecting flights. There is no information desk as such in the mp2 terminal (low cost terminal), but the travel agency mp2travel (tel: 04 4214 3414), which has service desks in the terminal's public area and in the boarding lounge, will help travellers with any queries. The airport's automatic information service (tel: (04) 4214 2020) is available 24 hours a day and also covers mp2 Terminal flights and services.

Transfer between terminals: 

The three terminals (domestic, international and low cost) are within walking distance of each other.

Driving directions: 

Marseille Provence Airport is located on the D20 at Marignane. It is clearly signposted from the A7 motorway, which is the main access road. For a map of the area, visit the airport's website.

Public Transport

Public transport rail: 

Rail: Regular shuttle buses link the terminals with the new Vitrolles Aéroport station five minutes' ride away, from which regular trains operate to Marseille (journey time: 18 minutes; fare: €4.70) and numerous other destinations, including Avignon and Montpellier. Tickets can be bought from automatic machines in the airport.

Public transport road: 

Bus: There are shuttle buses from Marseille Provence Airport to Marseille St Charles railway station (journey time: 20-30 minutes; fare: €8.50) and to Aix-en-Provence bus and TGV train stations (journey time: 30-40 minutes; fare: €7.80).

Taxi: Taxis are available daily 24 hours and can be ordered in advance (tel: 04 4214 2444 or 06 2523 1319; www.taxis-aeroport.com). The fare to central Marseille is approximately €45 during the day and €60 at night, and the journey time is around 20 minutes.

Terminal facilities

Money: 

ATMs and a bureau de change can be found in the terminals.

Communication: 

Wi-Fi internet access is available in the airport's main terminal building. There is also an internet café in the main building. Internet access is not available in the low-cost mp2 terminal, but there are telephone kiosks.

Food: 

There are various cafés and restaurants in the public areas of the main terminals and in the boarding lounges. Automatic vending machines are also available.

Shopping: 

There is a duty-free shop for passengers leaving the EU, and news stands in the two main terminals. There is also a shop selling local produce and handicrafts, and a couple of specialist perfumery/cosmetics outlets.

Luggage: 

Left-luggage facilities (tel: 06 3776 1563) are available in Hall 1, open Monday to Friday only. Trolleys can be found throughout Marseille Provence Airport, and porters are available on request. For lost and found items, contact PCPA (tel: 08 2014 2410) on the ground floor of Hall 3.

Other: 

There is a baby changing facility by the boarding lounge. Shower facilities are available in Hall 1.

Airport facilities

Conference and business: 

The Business Centre (tel: 04 4214 2774/8) is located in Hall 4 on the first floor of the main terminal building. It has private offices, meeting rooms and lounges available for hire. Up to 250 people can be accommodated in the Panoramique Lounge in Hall 1 (international terminal). Facilities include telephones, fax, internet and audiovisual equipment, while services offered range from personal porters and catering to a limousine service. Meeting facilities are also available at some of the airport's hotels.

Disabled facilities: 

Marseille Provence Airport has adapted toilets, lifts and reserved parking spaces. Other facilities for wheelchair users can be provided on request by the airlines or by Midi Provence (tel: 04 4214 2742).

Car parking: 

There are more than 9,000 parking spaces in nine parking lots, including covered and outdoor car parks, at Marseille Provence Airport. Covered parking is available close to the terminal in P6; short-term parking is available in P8 and P9; medium-term parking is available in car parks P10 and P5; and long-term parking is available in P1, P2, P3 and P7. The first 40 minutes of parking in P2 and P8 are free.

A separate budget facility, Chèques Parking (www.chequeparking.com) also offers short-term parking and spaces can be booked on the internet. Car rental: 

Car hire companies at Marseille Provence Airport include: Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National/Citer and Sixt. Desks for each of these providers are situated on the ground floor of Hall 4 (domestic arrivals) and lots are located between car parks P3, P7 and P8.

There are six hotels at or near Marseille Provence Airport, all operating a shuttle service to and from the terminals.

Aéroport Marseille Provence

Aéroport Marseille Provence offers basic, but clean and modern accommodation in a typically French style. The hotel has 117 rooms accommodating up to three people. A breakfast buffet is included in the room rate, along with free Wi-Fi internet.

Best Western Hôtel Marseille Aéroport

Offering 120 rooms, five meeting rooms and a 24-hour reception, the Best Western Hôtel Marseille Aéroport is immediately opposite the airport terminal building. It also has an outdoor pool, fitness room and a tennis court, along with a restaurant/bar.

Five minutes by shuttle from Marseille Provence Airport, the 4-star Novotel has 12 meeting rooms. Other facilities include a swimming pool, bar, restaurant, Wi-Fi access and children's play areas.
