The new international terminal was opened in early 2011.
There are information desks in both terminals.
Trivandrum International Airport is well signposted and is situated adjacent to the NH66 bypass road.
Public Transport
Bus: Bus 14 (www.keralartc.com) runs frequently between Trivandrum International Airport and the city bus terminal at East Fort, near the Padmanabhaswamy Temple. Services are very cheap, but often very crowded. The journey time into the city is around 30 minutes.
Taxi: Taxis and auto rickshaws are available outside the terminals. Pre-paid taxis are also available, and can be booked at a counter in the arrivals areas of the terminal buildings. The fare into the city is around Rs250, and the journey time is around 20 minutes.
Terminal facilities
Bank branches are available in the arrivals and departures areas of the international terminal.
A post office is situated in the arrivals area of the international terminal. Internet access is available in each terminal.
There are restaurants in the departures area of the international terminal as well as snack bars and tea and coffee vending machines.
There is a duty-free shop in the departure area of the international terminal. Shops selling books, gift items and mobile phones are available in each terminal.
There are lost and found offices (tel: (471) 250 1591) in all terminals. Luggage trolleys are available.
Trivandrum International Airport has dormitory accommodation and retiring rooms available for transit passengers in the domestic terminal (Terminal 1). There are also mother and baby rooms, a medical centre, and an on-site temple.
Airport facilities
There are no business or conference facilities at Trivandrum International Airport, but internet access is available in the terminals. The international terminal has a business-class lounge.
Trivandrum International Airport offers special assistance and wheelchairs to physically disabled travellers.
Both short- and long-term parking is available at Trivandrum International Airport; there are spaces for almost 300 cars at the domestic terminal, and 700 at the international terminal.
A number of local car hire companies offer cars with drivers or self-drive options at Trivandrum International Airport. It is customary for visitors to India to rent cars with drivers, owing to the country's difficult driving conditions.
Airport hotels
