Flying to Macau City

Airlines offering flights to Macau from the UK include Air China, EVA Air, China Airlines, Cathay Pacific and bmi. Air Macau is the national airline company and offers regional flights.

Flight times:

From London – 14 hours; New York - 16 hours 15 minutes (excluding stopover time).

Travel by road

Summary:

Given the strict licensing restrictions on foreigners and the large queues to access Macau by road, driving is not recommended. The vast majority of visitors arrive by ferry from Hong Kong, by air or by coach travel from mainland China.

Emergency breakdown service:

There are no dedicated breakdown services, however if you are hiring for driving in Macau, both Avis and Magic Mokes will provide full breakdown cover.

Routes:

Road access is via two entry points: the Border Gate (0700-2400) and the Cotai Frontier Post (0900-2000).

Coaches:

Coach travel, rather than car, to and from China is advised: Kee Kwan Motor Road Co (tel: 2893 3888) operates frequent daily buses (0715-2100) between Macau and Guangzhou; journey time is 2 hours 30 minutes.

Travel by rail
