Malta International Airport Guide (MLA)
The airport is located 5km (3 miles) southeast of Valletta.

The airport is currently developing a business centre adjacent to the terminal building, due for completion late in 2011.
Malta Tourist Information (tel: 2369 6073/4) is located in the ‘Welcomers' Hall’ and is open 24 hours a day. Additional visitor information is available on-line (www.visitmalta.com). The Customer Services Centre (tel: 2124 9600) is located inside the check-in hall and is also open around the clock.
On leaving the airport, take the main road to Marsa, which leads to Valletta. The city centre and airport are both clearly signposted.
Public Transport
Bus: Bus 8 departs regularly to/from Valletta and leaves from a bus stop outside the check-in hall (tel: 2560 8000; www.maltatransport.com). Journey time is around 30 minutes, and tickets allowing all-day use of local buses are priced at €3.49. The Gozo-Airport Shuttle (tel: 2210 9001) connects to Gozo ferry services at the Cirkewwa sea passenger terminal.
Taxi: There is a fixed-fare taxi service, operated by White Taxis (tel: 2182 3017; www.maltataxi.net) to all areas of Malta. The fare to Valetta from the airport is €15, and journey time is about 20 minutes. A taxi booth is located in the Welcomers' Hall, where pre-paid tickets can be purchased.
Terminal facilities
There are two banks and bureaux de change; ATMs are available in Arrivals. There is a post office in the check-in hall. Public telephones are available throughout, as is free Wi-Fi Internet access. There are also fixed Internet terminals in the café in the check-in hall.
There are numerous restaurants and cafés throughout the airport.
There is a good choice of tax-free (for non-EU passengers), gift and general services shops throughout the airport, notably in the recently redeveloped departures area.
A left-luggage service is available 24-hours a day (tel: 2369 6012), as is a luggage secure-wrapping service. Lost and found service is available at the customer services desks in the check-in hall and in the Schengen departures area (tel: 2369 6438).
There is a chapel on site.
Airport facilities
New conference facilities are available in the redeveloped area between Arrivals and Departures, with a capacity of up to 80 delegates (tel: 2369 6514). There are three executive lounges at the airport: the Gerolamo Cassar executive lounge, located in Arrivals; the members-only La Valette executive lounge (tel: 2369 6292), situated in the Departures lounge, immediately after security control; and the Ewropa Lounge (operated by Air Malta) in the Departures lounge. Internet access is available to lounge users. A range of VIP services are offered, including 'meet and greet', chauffeur cars etc.
The terminal has wheelchair-accessible toilets, ramps and low-level payphones. Reserved parking spaces are available in the car park. Assistance can be arranged in advance on (tel: 2369 6333).
There are spaces for 650 cars in the car park, which is linked to the main terminal by a walkway (tel: 2369 6475). Car hire companies have a separate car park for the collection and return of hired vehicles.
Car hire desks are located in the ‘Welcomers' Hall’ and companies represented at the airport include Avis, Budget, Europcar, First, Hertz, Sixt and Thrifty.
