Monterrey General Mariano Escobedo International Airport is an air facility located in the northeast of Mexico. Driving directions:

From Monterrey city centre, take Federal Highway 40 (also called the Carretera Interoceánica) eastbound, and take the northbound exit onto route 40D (with signs for the airport). This road leads directly to the airport entrance. The total drive time from central Monterrey to the airport is approximately 30 minutes.

Transfer between terminals:

Free minibus shuttles operate between the three terminals from 0500-0000.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus: Bus companies: Autobuses Coahuilenses, Autobuses del Noreste and Transportes de Norte all have bus services connecting the airport and Monterrey city centre, with some running on to destinations including Monclava, Tamaulipas and Laredo in Texas. The bus ticket kiosks are located in the Terminal A domestic arrivals area, and the Terminal C main information counter. More information about the services is also available at these points.

Taxi:Several taxi companies provide services to/from the airport (journey time: 30 minutes; fares from US$15). Travellers can buy pre-paid tickets at designated airport desks. Taxi Suburban (tel: +52 81 8352 2511; www.suburban.com.mx) offers pre-booked taxis.

Terminal facilities

Money:

There is a bureau de change and several ATMs within the airport terminals. Two bank branches also have offices within the airport.

Food:

There are numerous restaurants, bars and cafés in the various 'plaza' areas dotted around the terminals.

Shopping:

Numerous duty-free, clothing and gift shops are available at the airport, as are book shops, and local crafts stores.

Luggage:

There are no left-luggage facilities at the airport. The Lost and Found Office (tel: +52 8288 7700) is located between Terminals A and B, and can assist with any lost or found luggage queries within Monterrey International Airport.

Other:

A shoeshine service is also available at Monterrey International Airport; stalls are set up at various points within the terminals.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

Airlines have executive lounges for business-class passengers and club members, such as the Aeroméxico VIP Lounge, which is located on the ground floor of the International Departures lounge (next to the restaurant) and offers Wi-Fi Internet access and fax and photocopying services.

Business and conference facilities can be found at several nearby hotels, including the Hampton Inn - Monterrey Airport (tel: +52 81 8196 8500; hamptoninn.hilton.com), which also has a business centre and services including express mail, faxing, photocopying and printing.

Communication Facilities:

Wi-Fi internet access is available within Monterrey International Airport's VIP Lounges. Public telephones are scattered throughout the airport.

Disabled facilities:

The airport is fully wheelchair accessible with lifts and ramped access. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.

Car parking:

Short-term and long-term parking is available at Terminals A and C. Additional short-term and 'premium' valet parking spaces can be found at Terminal B.

Car rental:

Car hire companies: Avis, Alamo, Dollar, Europcar, Greenmotion, Hertz, National, Payless, Sixt and Thrifty are all represented at the airport. Car rental kiosks are located outside the Terminal A arrivals area.
