Panama City travel guide
The bustling capital of Panama City is a place of dazzling extremes. Panama may be one of the wealthiest countries in Central America due to its famous canal, yet the rich-poor divide in the city is starkly apparent. Giant, shiny skyscrapers and modern malls mix with once beautiful colonial buildings, now crumbling and shabby. Truly, this is an eye-opening city, an example of a destination mid-development.
Panama City will keep you busy – the different districts provide much to see, and the historical architecture, whether decaying or beautifully restored, will delight your eyes at every turn. Plus, you can really live it up here, with stylish bars and restaurants at your disposal.
If you can bear to tear yourself away from Panama City, you’ll find gorgeous beaches, virgin rainforest and the fabulous Panama Canal.
