Irkutsk International Airport Guide (IKT)
Irkutsk International Airport is situated 8km (5 miles) from the city centre. Irkutsk is in southeastern Siberia, 60km (37 miles) east of Lake Baikal in the Russian Federation.

The latest stage in expansion of the terminal complex was completed in November 2011. A metro link with the city centre is due to become operational in 2014.

The two passenger terminals are within walking distance of each other.

Public Transport

Bus: Buses and shuttles between Irkutsk International Airport and the city centre, and its railway station, are frequent and cheap. The journey takes about half an hour.
Taxi: Taxis are available from Irkutsk International Airport.

There is a bureau de change, bank and ATM facilities at Irkutsk International Airport.
There is a post office, telephones and an internet café in the terminal buildings.
Dining facilities include restaurants, cafés and bars, which can be found in the terminal buildings.

Airport facilities
There is a VIP lounge offering limited business services. The 4-star Baikal Business Centre Hotel (tel: (3952) 259 120; en.bbc.ru/qa/hotel) provides business and conference facilities. It is located 10 minutes by car from Irkutsk International Airport, across from the Sib Expo Centre and has multilingual staff.
Facilities for disabled travellers are available in the international terminal. There are lifts and ramps, wheelchair-accessible toilets and reserved car parking spaces.
There are plenty of car parking spaces available at Irkutsk International Airport.
None of the international car hire companies have representation in Irkutsk. If you are intent on hiring a car, do so through a local travel agency.
Airport hotels
Although primarily used by aircrew for their stopovers, the hotel is within walking distance of the terminals, and has recently re-branded itself as an option for general use. There is a luggage room, hairdresser and travel agency on the premises.
