Abu Dhabi International Airport Guide (AUH)
Here you'll find essential information on Abu Dhabi airport, including contact details, airport transfer facts, details of airport facilities, and how to get there.
Work has begun on a large fourth terminal known as the Midfield Terminal Complex, which will increase the airport’s capacity by an additional 20 million passengers yearly when it opens in 2012.
There are information desks within the terminal buildings.
Shuttle buses link the terminals.
Three major roads link the airport with Abu Dhabi city; Highway 30, Highway 2 and Highway 8. All three merge to form the E10 on the approach to the airport.
Public Transport
Bus: Bus No.901 connects central Abu Dhabi with the airport, departing at hourly intervals from outside the arrivals areas. Etihad operates a free bus connection for its passengers between the airport and Dubai. The journey time is approximately 45 minutes. For Etihad passengers, there is a regular free bus service into the city.
Taxi: Taxi services operate from outside the arrivals area.
Terminal facilities
ATMs are available in Terminals 1 and 2, as are banks, and there is another bank close to the car rental desks in Terminal 1’s car park. Bureaux de change are also available. There is a post office in Terminal 1, and there are public telephones throughout the airport. Internet access is available in the airport lounges.
There is a wide range of food and drink outlets in all three terminals.
24-hour duty free shopping can be found in all three terminals.
Left-luggage lockers are available.
24-hour medical assistance is available in the Terminal 1 transit area. There is a pharmacy, nursing room and baby change facilities. Transit passengers can use the hotel’s shower facilities (for a charge).
Airport facilities
A business centre is located in the Airport Hotel in Terminal 1 (tel: (02) 575 7377; www.abudhabiairport.ae). It offers a variety of office services, and is free to airport lounge users. A small charge applies for the general public. Free internet access is available in the lounges and in the hotel.
The airport is wheelchair accessible, with lifts etc. A personal 'meet and assist' service is available (tel: (02) 575 7466/505 2710).
Short-, medium-, and long-stay parking is available close to all terminals. The parking facilities include the air-conditioned Skypark opposite Terminal 3. Shuttles link the car parks with the terminals.
Budget, Dollar, Europcar, Hertz, Payless and Thrifty are all represented at the airport, and the offices are situated in the Skypark Plaza opposite Terminals 1 and 3. A free bus runs from Terminal 2.
