Passports

To enter Kuwait, a passport valid for at least six months is required by nationals referred to in the chart above.

Applicants of e-visas need a passport valid for at least more than six months.

Passport Note

You may be refused entry in to Kuwait if you have an Israeli visa or Israeli border stamp in your passport.

Visas

Visas for Kuwait are required by all nationals referred to in the chart above. 

However, nationals from Australia, Canada, the USA and the EU can obtain a one-month visa on arrival for touristic purposes if arriving by air. It is also possible for these nationals to obtain an e-visa prior to travel.

All visitors must have an onward ticket.

Nationals not referred to in the chart are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements for Kuwait.

Types and Cost

Visa on arrival; single- and multiple-entry visas: costs for all visas depend on the applicant's nationality.

e-visa: KD3 (fee varies depending on the applicant's nationality.

30-day visas on arrival are free to British nationals. British passport holders can also obtain a 90-day visa on arrival for a fee.

Validity

Visa on arrival: one month. Check with the embassy for the validity of other visas.

Application to

Consulate (or consular section at embassy), on arrival at the airport or prior to travel an e-visa.

Working days

If you apply for a visa in advance, allow five working days for processing at a consulate or consular section at an embassy and 2 working days when applying for an e-visa.

Extension of stay

You cannot usually extend the one-month visa.

Entry with pets

If bringing a pet to Kuwait, your animal must have a certificate of good health issued by a licensed vet and must have been vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days and not more than 12 months before travelling. You also need to obtain an import permit from the Animal Health department.
