Where to stay in Dominica

Hotels

Most hotels are small to medium, and offer accommodation according to a number of 'Plans' widely used in the Caribbean region, including a Modified American Plan (MAP; room, breakfast and dinner) or a European Plan (EP; room only). A 10% government room tax is added to hotel bills.

Bed and breakfast

A wide variety of guest houses and inns offer comfortable, homely tourist accommodation around the island. A 5% government tax and 10% service charge is levied on rooms.

Camping

Facilities are available. Overnight safari tours are run by local operators.

Other accomodation

Hostels are available at Calibishie, Portsmouth and Rosaline. Prices vary.


Apartments and cottages scattered around the island, offer self-catering, full service and maid service facilities.
