Monaco is not a member of the European Union but applies the Schengen acquis through its association with France. Travellers must enter Monaco through France or another Schengen country, as there are no independent passport controls at the French–Monégasque border.
EU and EEA nationals: May enter Monaco with a valid passport or national ID card.
Non-EU nationals: To visit Monaco, you must meet the entry requirements for France and the Schengen Area. A valid passport issued within the past ten years and with at least three months' validity beyond your intended stay is required.
