Victoria Hotel

After years in the doldrums, this large hotel in Stavanager, which occupies a distinguished, 19th century brick building has been refitted and revamped to good effect. The hotel bar, with its antique furnishings and fittings, has a first-rate range of whisky and although the rooms beyond lack decorative individuality, they are all perfectly comfortable with every mod con. Smashing harbourside location too.

Mid-range, medium-sized hotel occupying a modern building that's been squeezed into a narrow side street just off the harbour. The rooms are competent, if pretty average, but the hotel is competitively priced and is in a handy location.
