Lake Winnipesaukee

Enjoy every imaginable outdoor activity on Lake Winnipesaukee (www.lakewinnipesaukee.net). The crystal clear spring-fed lake, surrounded by three mountain ranges and dotted with over 300 islands, has a wooded shoreline and is ideal for camping, hiking, fishing, boating and swimming.

Tuckerman Ravine Trail

If you feel adventurous, climb to the top of Mount Washington along Tuckerman Ravine Trail. At the summit there is a museum, information centre and a snack bar where visitors can sit down and rest their weary feet.

Weather Discovery Center

Tour the Weather Discovery Center (www.mountwashington.org) in North Conway, to learn about the Mount Washington Observatory's key role in weather research. Average year-round observatory temperature is below freezing at 3°C (26.5°F), with the highest-recorded surface wind speed of 372kph (231mph).
