Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus: Akron Metro (tel: +1 330 762 0341; www.akronmetro.org) operates bus route 110, which links the airport to Akron. Journey time to RKP Transit Centre in downtown Akron is around 40 minutes (fare US$1.25).

Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) (tel: +1 330 477 2782; www.sartaonline.com) operates the Canton-Akron Express (bus route 81), which links Canton and Arkon via the airport. Journey time to both destinations from the airport is around 30 minutes depending on traffic (fare US$1.50). 

Shuttle: There are several shuttle/limo services that can be booked in advance, including Contract Transport Services (+1 216 857 4293; www.ctsoh.net).

Taxi: Akron-Canton Taxi (tel: +1 330 808 2159; www.acataxi.com) and Airport Taxi (tel: +1 330 434 4444) are among the local taxi companies servicing Akron-Canton Airport. All road transportation can be found outside the baggage claim area.

Money:

There are two ATMs at the airport, one just before security, and one after security by gate G8.

Food:

Food options before security include a Subway, Buckhead Grill, and JJ’s Sports Bar. Cinnabon, a store selling snack and bottled beverages, a food court, and a marketplace featuring a bar is located post-security screening.

Shopping:

A gift shop is located in the terminal building next to the Subway. Duty-free shopping is not available.

Luggage:

A lost and found service is available at the airport. If items were lost at the security area, contact Transportation Security Administration officials (tel: +1 866 289 9673), or if lost in any other part of the terminal, contact airport information (tel: +1 330 896 2385). There are no luggage lockers available.

Other:

Other facilities available at Akron-Canton Airport include a play area for children, a business centre and a relaxation station.

Conference and business:

A business centre is located in the departures area. Additional, more comprehensive, meeting and conference facilities are available in various hotels in the surrounding area.

Communication Facilities:

Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the terminal. There are also computers that passengers may use with free Internet access located near the information desk.

Disabled facilities:

Designated parking spaces are available in all parking lots near the shuttle pick-up areas and in the front rows nearest the terminal. All airport parking shuttles are equipped with lifts.

A wheelchair service is available from individual airlines inside the terminal building and can be requested in advance or at the ticket counter. All toilet facilities are wheelchair accessible. Most of the terminal is single-level and lifts are available at gates and in the terminal building. Any passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline before travelling.

Car parking:

There are five parking options at Akron-Canton Airport. The free waiting area is adjacent to the terminal, and vehicles in this area must be attended at all times. The short-term parking area is located in front of the terminal, and a covered short-term car park offers a covered walkway to the terminal. The long-term car parks are further from the terminal building but also offer easy access to the terminal through a complimentary shuttle service.
