Akron-Canton Airport is currently undergoing an ambitious 10-year US$110 million upgrade project until 2018, which includes a runway extension, improved customs and immigration facilities, new gates and better access.
The information centre (tel: +1 888 434 2359) is located near the terminal building entrances and is open seven days a week from 0900 to midnight (1200 to midnight on Sundays).
From Canton, take Interstate 77 north to exit 113 (Akron-Canton Airport). From Akron, take Interstate 77 south and follow signs to exit 113 (Akron-Canton Airport). From exit 113, cross Lauby Road and head towards the terminal building that is directly ahead.
Akron-Canton Airport is situated 24km (15 miles) south of Akron and roughly the same distance north of Canton.

Bus:Akron Metro (tel: +1 330 762 0341; www.akronmetro.org) operates bus routes from the airport to the surrounding area. Bus 110 links the airport with the RKP Transit centre in downtown Akron (journey time: 40 minutes; fare US$1.25). Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) (tel: +1 330 477 2782; www.sartaonline.com) buses take travellers to downtown Canton.

There are two ATMs at Akron-Canton Airport, strategically placed both before and after security in the main terminal building.
The food court before the security screening area includes fast-food outlets, a restaurant, bar, sandwich shop, coffee kiosk and a snack bar. Snacks are also available post security.
There is a gift shop in the terminal building open from 0415 to 1900, with additional shopping airside. Duty-free shopping is not available, as the airport currently only serves domestic flights.
A lost and found service is available at the airport. There are no luggage lockers at Akron-Canton Airport but Skycap baggage assistance is available.

The airport is well equipped to accommodate disabled passengers. Designated parking spaces are available in all parking lots near the shuttle pick-up areas and in the front rows nearest the terminal. All airport parking shuttles are equipped with lifts.
A wheelchair service is available from individual airlines inside the terminal building and must be requested prior to arrival. All toilet facilities are wheelchair accessible. Most of the terminal is single-level and lifts are available at gates and in the terminal building. Any passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline before travelling.
There are four parking options at Akron-Canton Airport. The free waiting area (often called the 'cell phone lot') is adjacent to the terminal: vehicles in this area must be attended at all times. The short-term parking area, the most convenient but expensive parking option, is located in front of the terminal. The long-term car park is further from the terminal building but also offers easy access. The economy car park is the most affordable parking option but is located further away. A complimentary door-to-door shuttle service is provided from the long-term and economy parking areas.
