One of Ohio's busiest airports, Port Columbus International Airport operates mainly regional and national flights as well as a small number of routes to international destinations. The airport information desk is located on the baggage reclaim level and provides airport and tourist information, including maps and guides.

Touch-screen kiosks are available at pre- and post-security locations; these provide information on a range of airport facilities.

Airport Ambassadors are on hand in the terminal building to provide airport tours and information; they are easily recognisable by their blue jackets.

Driving directions:

From Columbus, take Interstate 71 northwards to Interstate 670 and follow Interstate 670 eastbound to exit 9.

From Cleveland, take Interstate 71 southwards to Interstate 270; continue on Interstate 270 before turning off onto the westbound Interstate 670. The airport is clearly signed from this point.

From Indianapolis, take Interstate 70 eastwards to Interstate 670 and follow signs to the airport.

From Cincinnati, head north on Interstate 71 to Interstate 270 east, follow Interstate 270 to exit 35. Form here; follow Interstate 670 to the airport.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus: The Central Ohio Transit Authority (tel: +1 614 228 1776; www.cota.com) operates buses from outside the departures level of the terminal. The journey time is around 45 minutes and the single fare is US$2.

Shuttle: Shuttle buses to central Columbus run every 20 minutes, with providers including Arch Express (tel: +1 614 252 2277; www.archexpress.com) and Cardinal (tel: +1 614 274 2500).

Taxi: Metered taxis (tel: +1 614 239 8294) are available 24 hours a day from outside the departures level; trips outside Franklin County are not metered and should be agreed upon in advance. Terminal facilities

Money:

There are ATMs located on the ticketing level. Currency exchange services can be found in the business centre at the entrance to concourse C.

Food:

There is a selection of fast-food outlets and full service restaurants in the main food court, as well as several restaurants and bars in each of the concourses. An additional fast-food outlet and a steak restaurant can be found outside the terminal in the airport grounds.

Shopping:

Newsagents and gift shops are located on each of the concourses. There are also shops selling golf equipment, books, gifts, clothing and toiletries on the ticketing level. There are facilities for passengers to send certain purchases (i.e. those not permitted on aircraft) ahead by post.

Luggage:

A lost property service (tel: +1 614 239 5035) is available on the mezzanine level, above the food court. A porter service is available from Skycaps at the north and south entrance areas, and also on the baggage reclaim level.

Other:

Other facilities at Port Columbus International Airport include a first aid station, outdoor smoking areas, pet rest area, shoeshine, massage parlour, games arcade and meditation room.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

The airport's business centre is located at the entrance to concourse C. Facilities here include a bureau de change, fax, photocopier, conference rooms, computer suites and overnight delivery services.

Business and conference facilities are also available at nearby hotels such as Comfort Suites (tel: +1 614 586 1001; www.comfortsuites.com) and Hampton Inn (tel: +1 614 235 0717; hamptoninn3.hilton.com).

Communication Facilities:

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Port Columbus International Airport, while stationary internet kiosks and charging stations are also present at various locations. Postal 'drop boxes' are located in each of the three concourses.

Disabled facilities:

Port Columbus International Airport is easily accessible to disabled passengers. Ramps, lifts, disabled toilets, Braille signage and TDD telephones are located throughout the terminal. A wheelchair service is available on request: passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should contact their airline prior to travel. Reserved parking is available in the multi-storey parking garage and car park shuttles are wheelchair-accessible.

Car parking:

Long and short-term parking is accessed from the terminal via an atrium and underground walkway, which connects to both Arrivals and Departures. Long-term options are available on levels 3-6; short-term parking is on levels 4 and 5.

There are further long-term spaces at the remote blue, red and brown car parks, which are connected to the airport by frequent 24-hour shuttle buses.

Other facilities include passenger pick-up and drop-off next to levels 1 to 3, a 'cellphone lot' for those awaiting incoming passengers and valet parking on the ticketing level of the terminal.

Car hire companies at Port Columbus International Airport include: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty. Car hire desks and pick-up is on the ground floor (level 1) of the multi-storey car park, which is connected to the terminal.
