About Nashville International Airport (BNA)

Nashville International Airport, which operates mainly domestic but some international routes, is one of the busiest airports in Tennessee. Our Nashville International Airport guide includes information on terminal facilities, public transport access and nearby accommodation.

Information:

The Information Centre (tel: +1 615 275 1675) is located on the baggage reclaim level of the passenger terminal and is open from 0630 to 2300 daily. Beige courtesy telephones throughout the terminal can be used to contact the centre for information and assistance.

Driving directions:

From central Nashville (to the west) and Knoxville (to the east), take Interstate 40 towards the airport. From the south and north, head along Interstate 24 and Interstate 65 respectively. Both link to Interstate 40. From Interstate 40, drivers should take exit 216 for Nashville International Airport. The total drive time to the airport from central Nashville is approximately 15 minutes.

Public transport road:

 

Bus: Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority operates bus 18 to the city centre (journey time: 30 minutes). All buses depart from the ground transportation level outside the terminal building.
Shuttle: Nashville Express Airport Shuttle (+1 615 335 6479) provides door-to-door services to downtown, West End hotels and suburbs and it is best to book in advance. Many hotels, including Best Western and Hampton Inn, also provide shuttle services to and from the airport.
Taxi: Several taxi companies are available on the Ground Transportation level. The fare to downtown Nashville is approximately $25 not including extra fees like tip.

 

Terminal facilities

Money:

ATMs, currency exchange services and bank facilities are all available at various points within the terminal.

Food:

There are snack bars, cafés, and coffee shops, as well as a range of sit-down restaurants within the terminal.

Shopping:

There is a range of specialist shops at Nashville International Airport selling gifts, chocolates, sunglasses and items reflecting Nashville’s musical heritage. There are also general newsagents selling newspapers and magazines. Duty-free is not available, as the airport serves almost exclusively domestic routes.

Luggage:

Trolleys are available (for a fee) at various locations throughout the terminal. The Information Centre in baggage reclaim operates the airport’s lost and found service (tel: +1 615 275 1675).

Other:

Other facilities at Nashville International Airport include a children's play area and a meditation room. Shoeshine and massage services are also available. Nashville is known as the Music City, so at the airport, there are six performance areas located throughout the terminal and all types of music genres are performed.

Conference and business:

The Business Centre (tel: +1 615 275 2660) is located near the South Security Checkpoint. Facilities here include a fax machine and photo copier. Conference and meeting facilities are offered by several hotels in the near vicinity, including the Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville Airport (tel: +1 615 885 4242; http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com), which is connected to the airport via a free shuttle service.

Disabled facilities:

 

Nashville International Airport is accessible to disabled passengers, with lifts connecting all floors and a range of services such as TDD phones and dedicated toilets. Any passengers who may require additional service are advised to contact their airline before travelling.
Disabled parking spaces are located on the front rows of all car parks; courtesy shuttles from the long-term and economy car parks are equipped with wheelchair lifts.

 

Car parking:

Short- and long-term parking is available on site at the airport, as is economy parking. The short-term car park is located directly in front of the terminal, while there is a courtesy shuttle service to/from long-term, economy and overflow parking. Other facilities include valet parking (tel: +1 615 275 5381) and a free waiting area for drivers meeting arrivals.

Car hire companies at Nashville International Airport include: Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless and Thrifty. Car hire desks are located on the ground transportation level. Pick-up is conveniently located next to the terminal building in the Rental Car Facility.
