Eeyore’s Birthday Party

Eeyore’s Birthday Party is one of Austin’s oldest festivals, having been founded in 1963, and optimizes the “Keep Austin Weird” attitude. This free event features food and drinks, music and large drum circles. It is popular amongst the hippie set, so don’t be surprised if you see costumed or bare-breasted individuals enjoying the fest. Proceeds from the sale of food and beverages benefits local non-profits.

Date: 27 April 2019 - 27 April 2019
(Date to be confirmed)
Venue: Pease Park.

Fourth of July celebrations

Locals fill up the shores of Lady Bird Lake on the Fourth of July to watch the impressive fireworks display bounce between the city’s skyline and reflect off the lake’s water. The tantalizing event is only magnified by the Austin Symphony Orchestra rendition of the 1812 Overture. This event is free, but it’s important to snag a spot on the lawn early. The area fills up quickly with thousands of looky-loos.

Date: 04 July 2019 - 04 July 2019
Venue: Auditorium Shores.
