Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport is located 8km (5 miles) south of Milwaukee and 112km (70 miles) north of Chicago, off exit 119 of Interstate 94. From Chicago, take Interstate 94 north to the airport exit.

Public transport road:
Shuttle: Go Airport Connection (tel: 1 800 236 5450; www.goriteway.com) provides shared shuttle van services to city centre hotels and business locations 24 hours a day. The fare to central Milwaukee is US$14.
Bus: Public buses operated by the Milwaukee County Transit System (tel: +1 414 344 6711; www.ridemcts.com) serve Milwaukee County: bus 80 runs to Sixth Street in central Milwaukee (journey time: 25 minutes, fare $2.25).

All services leave from outside Arrivals. A coordinator, whose booth is located in the centre of the traffic island, is on hand to provide assistance.
Public transport rail:
Rail: The Amtrak Hiawatha (tel: 1 800 872 7245; www.amtrakhiawatha.com) line connects Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport to central Milwaukee's Intermodal Station (journey time: 15 minutes; fare: US$7.50) as well as Union Station in Chicago (journey time: 1 hour 20 minutes; fare: US$24). Services run seven times daily Monday to Friday or six times on a Sunday. The last train departs the airport for Chicago at 1945 and for Milwaukee at 2119. Shuttles to the airport station are available from outside baggage reclaim.
ATMs are located in the main terminal building and near the entrance to Concourse C. There is a bank in the central area on the upper level of the terminal.
There are a number of food outlets at General Mitchell International Airport, including a restaurant, a wide range of snack retailers, cafés and several bars.
There are shops located throughout the terminal and concourses, including a confectionary, Harley-Davidson paraphernalia retailer, newsagent and gift shop, and a second-hand book outlet.
