Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus: Sofia Public Transport Company (SKGT) (tel: 0700 13233; www.sofiatraffic.bg) operates two buses serving Sofia Airport. Both run between the airport and the university in the city centre, albeit following different routes. Bus 84 goes to Terminal 1 while bus 284 serves Terminal 2. Services are frequent during the day and available from 0500-2300. In addition, several of the bigger hotels provide shuttle buses to or from the airport. The journey time to the city centre on public buses is around 30 minutes, and large luggage items are charged as extras to the fare.

Taxi: The best way to ensure a reliable taxi service to the city centre is to book the transfer with taxi companies OK Supertrans (tel: (02) 973 2121; oktaxi.net) or Taxi S Express (02) 91 280; both have desks located in the arrivals hall.

Terminal 1 has sloped entry to the car park for wheelchair users and there are designated parking spaces reserved for disabled people. There are also separate toilets for the disabled and an elevator to the business class lounge in the terminal. Terminal 2 was designed with special attention to disabled passengers.
