It's a 20-minute drive from the airport to the city centre. The airport is next to the main Ring Road. To get the airport, head south from the city on the Al-Nasr road and follow signs for the airport.
Public Transport
Public transport road:
Bus: Minibuses go to Hurghada: they wait outside the airport and only leave once full (journey time: 20 minutes).
Taxi: Regular taxis and tourist taxis (which charge double the fare) also operate from the airport. The taxi rank is outside Arrivals. It is advisable to agree a fare with the driver before departing.
Terminal facilities
Money:
There are bureaux de change, ATMs and a bank in the terminal building.
Communication:
There is a post office providing mail and Internet services. There are public telephones throughout the airport.
Food:
There are several cafés and bars, plus one full-service restaurant. Numerous vending machines offer snacks and drinks.
Shopping:
More than 40 retail outlets and bazaars offer duty-free goods, giftware and souvenirs.
Luggage:
There is a left-luggage facility and a lost property office. Baggage wrapping services are available.
Other:
There is a mosque and a children's playground.
Airport facilities
Conference and business:
There are no business facilities at the airport. The big hotels at the resort all have conference and meeting facilities. There is, however, a VIP lounge.
Disabled facilities:
Facilities for disabled travellers are basic. Wheelchairs are available from the airline counters. Travellers requiring assistance should contact their airline prior to departure.
Car parking:
The car park is located just outside the terminal. Short term spaces are closest, and long-term parking is a little further away.
Car rental:
Car hire is available at the airport from Hertz, which has a desk in Arrivals. Local operators are also represented.
