Also known as Mérignac Airport, Bordeaux Airport is the main airport for the Gironde department, which is within the Aquitaine region of southwest France. Transfer between terminals

The two main terminals (named Halls A and B) are situated in one complex. The low-cost Billi terminal is a short distance away, within walking distance.

Driving directions

Bordeaux Airport can be accessed from junctions 11a or 11b off the ring road surrounding Bordeaux.

Public Transport

Public transport road

Bus: Bordeaux Airport operates a 30 minutes direct bus from the airport to the Bordeaux Saint Jean Train Station, located in the city centre. The shuttle runs every day all year round from 0800 to 2300. One way tickets, that are purchasable on board the bus, are €7.20. There is also a local bus service, Liane 1 (tel: 05 5757 8888; www.infotbc.com), which serves the city centre via the tram station in Mérignac.

Taxi: Taxis, which are operated by a number of companies, are available from outside the terminals. Companies include: Taxis de Mérignac (tel: 05 5697 1127), Taxis Girondins (tel: 05 5680 7037) and Taxis Télé (tel: 05 5696 0034) – a full list of providers is available on the airport’s website. The fare to the city centre is generally around €30, but it is best to agree a rate with the driver in advance.

Terminal facilities

Money

There is a bank on the departures level of Hall B and ATMs throughout. Bureaux de change kiosks are situated between Halls A and B and in the Billi terminal.

Communication

There is a post office on the departures level of Hall A. Free Wi-Fi internet access is widely available in the terminals.

Food

Bordeaux Airport has a good selection of bars and restaurants in all terminals. These include a restaurant overlooking the runway in Hall A.

Shopping

Shops can be found in each terminal; these include newsagents, gift shops, confectioners and a perfumery. There are also duty-free shops in the international departures area of Hall A and in the Billi terminal.

Luggage

A lost property service is located on the departures level of Hall B (tel: 05 5634 5000). For items left on planes, passengers should contact their airline.

Other

Childcare equipment can be reserved in advance (tel: 05 5634 5000) and picked up at the information desk in Hall B.

Conference and business

Conference rooms and meeting rooms are available in all major hotels close to the airport. There are photocopying facilities in the departures area of Hall A.

Disabled facilities

Wheelchairs are available from individual airlines, which must be informed prior to travel. Wheelchairs can also be rented from the airport directly (tel: 05 5634 5000). Lifts and disabled toilets are located throughout the airport, and there are spaces reserved for disabled drivers in all car parks.

Car parking

Bordeaux Airport has four car parks: P0, P1, P2 and the long-term P4. The covered P0 car park is nearest the terminal and offers short-term rates. P1 and P2 are short- and medium-term car parks. Parking can be pre-booked online via the airport website; for further information contact the parking office (tel: 05 5634 5073).

Car rental

Car hire companies: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Firefly, Hertz, Interrent, Sixt and T.T. Service have offices in the connecting wing between Halls A and B. The hire car parking area is immediately opposite the terminals.

There are several hotels near Bordeaux Airport, the majority of which are budget or mid-range options. A shuttle service is available on request from the airport information desk.
