Accra Kotoka International Airport is situated 10km (6 miles) north of Accra city centre.

Accra Kotoka International Airport is undergoing a continuing programme of upgrades and improvements, primarily aimed at reducing congestion and queues. The overall project is due for completion by the end of 2015. There have been reports of long queues to exit the country, so departing passengers are advised to leave plenty of time to go through security.
There is an airport information desk and a Ghana Tourist Information counter in the main arrivals area.
From Accra city centre, head north along Independence Avenue and Liberation Road, following signs to the airport.
Taxi:Taxis are the best way to get to Accra city centre and can be found at car park 2, close to the arrivals exit. A taxi from Accra Kotoka International Airport to Nkrumah Circle or Osu should costs around GH¢35, but most don't have meters so make sure you agree a price before getting in. The journey time to central Accra is 25-55 minutes, depending on traffic.
Paid-for Wi-Fi internet access is available in the departures area of Accra Kotoka International Airport – vouchers are available in airport shops. Card phones are located at several points throughout the terminal; cards are available from the post office and some shops. A post office is also situated in the airport.
There is a choice of restaurants both pre and post-security at Accra Kotoka International Airport and there is a bar airside.

Several car hire companies are represented at Accra Kotoka International Airport, with booths outside the arrivals hall. These include Avis and Europcar (chauffeur-driven cars only). A number of local operators are also present.
