Valencia Airport Guide (VLC)
Valencia Airport is located 8km (5 miles) to the west of Valencia.
Here you'll find essential information on Valencia Airport, including contact details, airport transfer facts, details of airport facilities, and how to get there.
The airport underwent extensive renovation in time for the 2007 Americas Cup, which was staged in the city. Two metro lines now link the airport with the city centre and the port area.
There are information desks (tel: 913 211 000 or 902 404 704) centrally located on the ground and first floors of the terminal building. A tourist information office (tel: 961 530 229) is also available on the ground floor.
Valencia Airport is located to the west of Valencia, in the municipalities of Manises and Quart de Poblet. National road N-220, which connects with the A-3 and the N-335, leads to the airport.
Public Transport
Underground: The Valencia Metro (tel: (900) 461 046; www.metrovalencia.es) links the airport with the city centre and the port area. Line 3 takes around 20 minutes to reach the city centre, and the fare is around €2.
Bus: Local bus 150, operated by the metropolitan transport authorities (tel: 963 160 707 or 961 500 082), runs between the airport and the central bus station from 0525-2355. It is not as frequent as the Aero-Bus, and it is not a direct service, but it is cheaper than the shuttle.
Taxi: Taxis can be picked up in the area just opposite the arrivals hall. Companies serving the airport include Radio Taxi Manises (tel: 961 521 155), Radio Taxi Valencia (tel: 963 703 333) and Telephone Teletaxi (tel: 963 571 313).
Terminal facilities
There are ATMs both on the ground floor and the first floor. Quick Change (tel: 961 521 725) offers currency exchange.
There are public telephones, and paid-for Wi-Fi Internet access is available.
There are four cafeterias and several restaurants, including Grill & More, which specialises in grilled meat, and Foodlasa Restaurant, which offers fine dining based on Valencian cuisine.
There are two major shops airside: Aldeasa and Divers, both of which offer a wide range of consumer goods, with duty free purchases available for passengers flying outside the EU. Additionally, the delicatessen 'Las Lilas' offers specialist foodstuffs and other giftware. There is also a pharmacy and a news/bookstore.
Queries regarding lost or damaged luggage should be directed to Iberhandling (tel: 961 598 683), Iberia (tel: 902 341 342) or Newco (tel: 902 131 435), all located on the ground floor of the terminal. A luggage sealing machine is available.
A chapel is located on the third floor. First aid is available on the ground floor (tel: 961 598 544).
Airport facilities
There are three VIP lounges at the airport. Aena's lounge can be used for small meetings as it has tables for four-six people. Two meeting rooms are also available, Sala de reuniones (tel: 961 598 509), which can take eight-10 people, and the Rafael Martínez Esteve Conference Room (tel: 961 599 010), which has capacity for 80 people and can be divided into two spaces.
Valencia Airport has arrangements and facilities in place to ensure optimum accessibility for disabled travellers, including access ramps, public lifts with PA systems indicating the floor and numbering in Braille, parking spaces for disabled people and a public information desk specially designed for disabled people.
The short- and long-term car parks (tel: 961 598 515) are located close to the terminal building.
Car hire companies at Valencia Airport include Auriga Crown, Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National Atesa. The car hire pick-up area is in the main car park opposite the terminal building.
