Airport news:
A direct rail link, the MRT, is due to be completed in 2013, and will connect Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport with central Taipei. The journey time will be around 35 minutes.

Driving directions:
From Taipei, take National Freeway 1 (Sun Yat-sen Freeway) southwest towards Taipei and Taichung/Chungli and turn off onto National Freeway 2 westbound.
Public Transport
Public transport rail:
Rail: Regular shuttle buses link Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport with Taoyuan HSR mainline rail network station for national rail services. The adult fare is NT$30, and rail services run from the station to Taipei, Tainan, Zuoying and other destinations.
Public transport road:
Bus: Several companies serve city centre destinations, including Taipei railway station (journey time: 50-60 minutes). There are also buses to Taoyuan (journey time: 40 minutes; fare: NT$85-145), Zhongli (journey time: 40 minutes; fare: NT$59) and Taichung (journey time: 2 hours; fare: NT$240), as well as other areas. Ticket counters are situated in the arrival areas of both terminals.
Taxi: Taxis are available outside Arrivals, 24 hours a day. Fares to Taipei and Taichung are metered and vary according to traffic conditions and road tolls.

There are bank branches in both terminals. These outlets offer ATMs and currency exchange services.
Communication:
There are two post offices in Terminal 2. Internet access and telephones are available at several points within each terminal. Mobile phone hire is also available.
Food:
There are numerous Chinese and Western restaurants, fast-food outlets, cafés and bars at Taiwan Taoyuan international Airport.
Shopping:
Shops at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport include newsagents, duty-free outlets and retailers selling local crafts and souvenirs. These can be found in both terminals.
Luggage:
Lost property offices are located in the basements of Terminal 1 Departures (tel: (03) 398 2538) and Terminal 2 Arrivals (tel: (03) 398 2538). Left-luggage services are available in both terminals. Lost items can be traced via the airport website.
Other:
Other facilities at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport include a museum, medical centre, hairdressers’, prayer rooms, beauty salons, a massage service centre and shower facilities. There is a nursery and playroom for parents travelling with young children.

Disabled facilities:
Disabled travellers may park free of charge for the first day of their stay in the airport car park. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.
Car parking:
Car parks are located on the ground level of the east and west sides of Terminals 1 and 2. Underground parking is available at Terminal 2. Parking information is available (tel: (03) 398 2160 for Terminal 1 or 393 1999 for Terminal 2).
