Al Ain International Airport Guide (AAN)
Al Ain International Airport is located 18km (12 miles) northwest of Al Ain in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Al Ain International Airport is the only international airport serving the United Arab Emirates’ city of Al Ain, which is a short distance to the southeast of the airport. Our Al Ain International Airport guide includes information on terminal facilities, public transportation options and nearby hotels, as well as airport contact details.
There are plans to further expand all aspects of the airport's facilities including doubling the size of both the departure lounge and check in area.
From central Al Ain, take the northbound Hazzaa Bin Sultan Street (138th street) right up until the end of the road. Here, turn left onto the westbound Al Etihad Street (111th street) which leads directly to the airport.
Bus:Bus number 496 connects Al Ain airport with the town centre, stopping at Al Ain Town Square and Al Ain Mall (journey time: 30 minutes; fare: AED2). For further information, contact the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport (tel: +971 2 8008 8888; www.dot.abudhabi.ae).
Taxi:Al Ghazal Taxis operates a fixed-rate service to the centre of Al Ain. Speak to the staff at the airport’s information desk for assistance with booking an official taxi. Alternatively, contact the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport (tel: +971 2 8008 8888; www.dot.abudhabi.ae).
Shops at Al Ain International Airport include a duty-free complex selling a range of goods, including branded souvenirs, perfumes and confectionary items.
Long- and short-term parking options are available immediately outside the terminal building.
There are no car hire companies at Al Ain International Airport. However, international car hire operators are represented in Al Ain city centre and it is possible to pre-book a car to be delivered to the airport. Hertz is one international car hire chain present in Al Ain, though cars must be picked up directly from its city centre office.
