Driving directions:

From central Thessaloniki, follow the route 24 highway south for about 12km (8 miles), turning right onto route 67 which leads directly to the airport entrance. The total drive time from central Thessaloniki to the airport is approximately 25 minutes.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus: Direct bus services (route 78/78N) operate regularly, approximately every 30 minutes, from outside the terminal to central Thessaloniki (tel: +30 2310 981100;www.oasth.gr). Journey time into the centre is around 50 minutes.

Taxi: Metered cabs operate from immediately outside Arrivals and can take passengers directly to the city centre (journey time: 20-25 minutes).

Terminal facilities

Money:

Several banks offering currency exchange facilities can be found in the main hall of the airport, and a bureau de change is located in Arrivals. A number of ATMs are provided in various locations throughout the terminal building.

Food:

There are several restaurants and bars within the terminal, some of these have views overlooking the runways.

Shopping:

Duty-free is available in Departures for passengers leaving the EU. Goods offered include the usual mix of alcohol, tobacco and cosmetic goods, along with local wine, confectionery items and general souvenirs.

Luggage:

There are no left luggage facilities at the airport, but free trolleys are provided. For lost and found information, contact the airport’s main information desk (tel: +30 2310 985 218).

Other:

Other facilities at Thessaloniki International Airport include baby-care rooms and a children’s play area.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

There are currently no meeting facilities at the airport, however there are two VIP lounges in Departures which provide a quiet working environment for passengers. Extensive business facilities are however available at the Ambassador Hotel (tel: +30 239 2021 2003; www.ambassador.gr), located only a short distance from the airport.

Communication Facilities:

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Thessaloniki International Airport. Additionally, there is a post office located within the airport and public telephones are strategically placed throughout.

Disabled facilities:

The airport is fully accessible to disabled passengers with lifts between floors and specialised toilet facilities. Any passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline in advance of travel.

Car parking:

Short- and long-term parking for over 2,000 vehicles is located immediately outside the terminal buildings.

Car rental:

International car rental companies Avis, Hertz and Sixt are represented at the airport.
