Oxford Literary Festival

Oxford City Bumping Races

Held on the Isis River (the local name for this stretch of the Thames), the Bumps are a series of rowing races in which boats, spaced a certain distance apart, endeavour to reach the boat in front and ‘bump’ it. An entertaining spectacle.

Cowley Road Carnival

In existence since 2001, the Cowley Road Carnival is a vibrant street party with processions and live music. In 2013, the theme was 'Wheels of Change' in tribute to William Morris and the former Cowley car plant. Expect an eclectic range of music and food - this is a real community event.

Oxford Chamber Music Festival

An annual get-together of friends and musicians from around the world, resulting in a series of chamber music concerts at various venues throughout the city. The festival was founded by violinist Priya Mitchell in 2000.

Oxford Beer Festival
