Driving directions:

The best way to reach the airport from central Manama is to follow Palace Avenue and Shaikh Hamad Causeway to Muharraq. After taking a slight right onto Khalifa Al Khabeer Highway, turn left to stay on the highway and continue onto Road No. 2403 and follow the signs to the airport.

Public transport road:

Taxi: Metered taxis are available outside of arrivals. The journey time to Manama is 10 to 20 minutes depending on traffic, and the approximate fare to the city is 6 BHD. Taxi companies recommended by the airport include Speedy Motors (tel: +973 17 682 999) and Arabian Taxi (tel: +973 17 461 746).

 

Shuttle: Many Manama hotels offer courtesy shuttle services for their guests.

 

Terminal facilities

Money:

There are banks with money exchange services and ATMs at various points in the terminal building.

Food:

There are restaurants and cafés throughout Bahrain International Airport. These include pizza restaurants, fast food outlets and an Irish pub.

Shopping:

The airport has a duty-free shopping area (www.bdutyfree.com) located in the arrivals and departures halls. This offers a wide range of goods and gifts, including local crafts. Orders can be placed online for collection at the airport.

Luggage:

There is no left-luggage service at the airport. Lost and found inquiries should be directed to the following: items lost in the terminal (tel: +973 17 321 429) or luggage lost in the baggage reclaim area (tel: +973 17 321 430).

Other:

A pharmacy is located on the first level near Gate12B, and a Muslim prayer room is also located on site.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

Three premium lounges are situated in the departures area, each of which serves food and is equipped with a range of business services.
Extensive meeting and conference facilities are also offered at a number of surrounding hotels.

 

Disabled facilities:

The terminal is fully accessible to disabled travelers with either lifts or ramps. Bahrain Airport Services (tel: +973 17 321 444) can assist with special requests.

Car parking:

Car Park A is a premium option and is the closest car park to the terminal. Car Park D offers long-term parking and is connected to the terminal by a shuttle. Passengers can be dropped off in front of the departures area, or picked up in front of Arrivals with waiting capped at 15 minutes (penalty charges apply thereafter).

Car rental:

International car hire companies include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt along with a number of other local operators. Car hire desks are located in the public arrivals area on the ground floor of the terminal.
