Walt Disney World Marathon

Dubbed 'The most magical 26 miles on Earth', this local tradition invites runners from all over the world to race around the Disney World parks. Starting at Epcot, the runners continue on to the Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Animal Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios before an exhilarating finish back at Epcot.

Silver Spurs Rodeo

This popular rodeo in Orlando's Silver Spurs Arena attracts rodeo stars from across America who come to compete in traditional rodeo events such as bareback bronco, bull riding, steer wrestling and barrel running. An absolute must for would-be cowboys and cowgirls everywhere, the annual Silver Spurs Rodeo is one of the biggest rodeos on the east coast of America.

$15 for adults and kids 10 and under are free with a paying adult.

Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival

Since its beginning in1960 the annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art has become one of the biggest and most prestigious outdoor art festivals in the country. Artists from all over the world apply to attend the famous show and a panel of judges selects between 250 and 300 to exhibit. Visitors can view the various works on display and there are numerous entertainment acts and children's events planned for the three-day festival.

Independence Day

Like everywhere else in America, 4 July means huge celebrations with fireworks, barbeques, and a host of other activities depending on where you live. In Orlando, this means a glut of patriotic events and parades in all the Disney World theme parks. Even if you’re not a huge fan of the stars and stripes, it’s hard not to feel the spirit of America in some of the most magical spots in the world.

Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

Explore unique foods and fine wines from many exotic locales. This festival is a culinary and cultural potpourri, complete with a concert series and many international food and wine marketplaces.

Gay Days

Gay and lesbian travellers come to Disney World for a week of theme park celebrations. Guests also attend expos, seminars and concerts.

Disney's Pop Century Resort

The best and newest of Disney's budget-priced hotels, with 2,880 rooms that pay tribute to 20th-century pop culture and great pool amenities. Expect bright colours and themes from the 1950s to the 80s. You’re close to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Portofino Bay Hotel

This re-creation of an Italian fishing village is in the heart of Universal Orlando Resort, complete with fine restaurants and shops. The guest rooms are decorated with a Mediterranean theme and there’s a lively piazza with vintage Italian sports cars and scooters.
