Varna International Airport Guide (VAR)
The airport is located 7.5km (5 miles) to the west of Varna.
Here you'll find essential information on Varna International Airport, including contact details, airport transfer facts, details of airport facilities, and how to get there.
Varna Airport became part of the Fraport family of companies in November 2006. A 35-year concession contract for Varna Airport was signed in September 2006. The investments planned for the entire contract period include improving the quality of service at airport and building new terminal facilities. A new terminal is expected to be completed by 2009.
There is an information desk (tel: (52) 573 323) in the public area between terminal 2 and terminal 3, and there are timetable displays in all terminals.
Due to the remoteness of terminal 5, there are shuttle buses between this terminal and the other terminals, which are all located near each other.
From Varna, head west on the E70. Then turn onto the A2 after about 4km (2.5 miles) and follow signs to the airport. In the opposite direction, drive east on the A2 from the airport and turn onto the E70 road after 3.5km (2 miles) and follow signs eastwards to Varna. Both the airport and the city are well signposted. The drive takes about 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
