Driving directions:

From Varna, head west on the E70. After about 6km (4 miles), take the exit towards Albena and follow signs to the airport. Both the airport and the city are well signposted. The drive generally takes about 20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus: The bus stop is in front of Terminal 2 Arrivals. Bus 409 (tel: +359 52 572 200; www.gtvarna.com- Bulgarian language only) operates every 15 minutes to city centre and Golden Sands resort. Tickets can only be bought from the ticket collector on the bus.

Taxi: Triumf taxi is the official taxi service at Varna’s airport. The cabs pick up passengers outside of Terminal 2. To book in advance, call +359 52 644 444 or visit www.triumftaxi.com. There is also a representative at the airport if you do not book in advance.

Terminal facilities

Money:

An ATM is available before Security Control in Terminal 2 Departures and foreign exchange services are available before security and in baggage claim. There is also a bank near the check-in area before security.

Food:

Cafés and bars can be found in the public and transit areas of the terminal. These serve fast food, beers, hot drinks, soft drinks, wines, spirits, sandwiches, snacks and hot meals.

Shopping:

There are duty-free shops in the departures and arrivals areas of Terminal 2; these outlets sell the usual range of cigarettes, wines and spirits, perfumes, cosmetics, watches and sunglasses. Other shops at Varna Airport include newsagents, a Puma outlet and gift shops.

Luggage:

A 24-hour lost and found office (tel: +359 52 573 423) operates at Varna Airport that can assist passengers with lost luggage queries. Baggage-wrapping services are available in the main check-in area.

Other:

Baby-changing rooms and a mother’s room are available in the departures area. A first-aid centre next to the information desk in Terminal 2 is on hand to deal with medical emergencies.

Larger hotels in the city centre offer business facilities, including meeting and conference rooms.

Communication Facilities:

Disabled facilities:

Facilities for disabled passengers at Varna Airport include reserved parking spaces, wheelchair hire, dedicated toilets, ramps and specific boarding vehicles. The airport’s special assistance department (tel: +359 52 573 323) is on hand to provide additional support to disabled passengers.
