Extensive improvements and expansion of the terminal facilities are due for completion by mid-2013. A second airport in the north of the island, linked to Denpasar Ngurah Rai Airport by rail connection, is also at the planning stage.

The two terminals are within walking distance of each other.

Driving directions

From Denpasar, follow the signs for Kuta, from which the airport is clearly signposted.

Public Transport

Public transport road

Bus: Buses from the airport are infrequent, so are therefore not a recommended option.

Shuttle: A cheaper alternative to the taxis is a bemo (shared minibus), which can generally be found a short distance from the car park. In addition, many hotels operate courtesy shuttles.

Taxi: Taxis are available outside Arrivals and operate on a pre-paid voucher system. Vouchers are sold at the official taxi desk close to the airport exit. The fare to Kuta is about Rp50,000 and to Denpasar around Rp90,000. Journey times vary considerably depending on traffic.
